2001 E-430 Replacing Broken Rear Window Regulator, Do I need to unplug battery?

2001 E-430

I am replacing broken Rear Window Regulator, Do I need to unplug battery? The reason I am asking this question is that I noticed that I have airbag in my 2001 W210 rear doors. I just want to make sure I will not activate air bag while working on Window Regulator.

Please some one can give me feed back.

Yes

unplug it.First for safety second if you disconnect the ab for any reason you won't need to have it reset.
Just resync all the windows and sunroof and your steering wheel angle sensor when done.

The owners manual

or the reset diy in the battery area on www.benzworld.org w210 forum diy section at the top of the page.
Easy
make sure you have your radio code if you need to re enter it.
You get that from any mb dealer or might be on a card in your radio book.

When I replaced my rear window regulator I did not disconnect the battery and I had no problems. However, as ohlord posted it's probably wiser to do so because the window and steering re-synch only takes a minute or 2..........
