OK, mine is not doing that yet. I first thought that it might be on the center armrest that looks like a roll-top desk, but I see that it is the one that I have. I wonder if it is extreme heat that is causing this.
Thanks for the post! Steve |

Not the heat...this car is a California Coastal car and i know that it's been garaged at home and at work. I also saw a VERY babied 2005 that had the exact same problem. I think pressure from the elbow just causes the adhesive to pull away after time. There has to be a way to fix this...anyone

One of the reasons I'm happy to have the wood roll-top center console.

OK, so I broke out my wife's cheap little travel hair dryer and heated the area up pretty hot. Then I was able to massage the bumps away
I am not sure how long it will stay like this, but right now it looks GREAT!!!

Is it possible to retrofit the new style roll top console, into the earlier models that came with the butterfly arm rest? I know that their are electronic parts located in the top of the butterfly arm rest. Will that play a part in the switch, or will it be an easy swap?

I wonder if you reactivated the glue (with the heat) or if you made the plastic regain its memory and it because tight again. Either way, it looks like it did the trick and lets hope it lasts for a long time. I hope this does not happen to mine, but if it does I know what to do.
I have already seen a few of the roll-tops with cracked wood, so I don't know which design is better. I really like the cooled compartment in mine! Steve |

Mine came back...I think that the glue get
reactivated by the heat but then fails again because it is just no good any more.
