Just picked up the 2010 E350 4-Matic

So I just picked her up today.

2010 E350 4Matic - Black/Black
Sport Package with 18 inch 5 spoke rims.
P01 Premium Package
Black Ash Wood Trim - which is really sweet.

Just came out of a short lease (27 month) for a 2008 E350 4matic same colors inside and out, AMG sport package, P1 etc. I actually feel sad parting with it because I liked it a lot and kept it clean, the dealer laughed and thought I never drove it it was in such mint shape. I think he was going to just put a for sale sign on it and keep it in the showroom! My lease was up 1/31/10 and I needed new tires and other stuff so it made sense to get a new car now.

I drove it about 2 hrs from NJ to NY, very smooth, tight, solid ride. I kept it in C-mode and did not get on it at all because I recall when I got my previous car the consensus on this board was to keep it in C-mode for about 1,000 then switch to S mode and then I can open it upm and get on it. Thought it felt much stronger and peppier when I pulled out of the dealership.

I need to read the manual because I wanted to choke the ***** in the NAV! she kept telling me about every damn traffic situation while I am trying to listen to some music never mind that for some weird reason I got off the wrong exit, I may have pressed something and it took me the long route then I changed it to shortest route and got me back on track so I will get on that right away and read the manual. The sound system sounds a slight bit better than the last, a little more crisp at best. I am impressed with items that are now standard in the P01 whereas last time it cost me a lot extra such is Ipod, Blutetooth, back up cam and a few other neat things like driver assist, etc all part of P01.

I REALLY miss the shifter, damn I was trying to find a place to rest my right hand and down shift.

Ambient lighting is gone but only my wife and baby liked that.

I think there is more leg room in the back seat but my wife thinks its smaller, I can fit behind the drivers seat (thought not a lot of room) and I recall the W211 was much tighter in the back so really I am not sure about that.

LOVE the front of the car and not too hot on the rear, tail lights etc. I ordered the trunk lip spoiler that should be here in a few days so I will be putting that on. The dealer had the car tinted for me so that really saved me a headache of getting it done.

The car looks so much better in person than online and I only saw the gray one in person and the rest were online photos of the black one but I always know what black does to the car and looks so much better than any color and it did not fail to impress in person especially when they had it in the showroom and with a dozen roses on the windshield! (I told my wife I bought them for her haa)

I got a very good deal on it. MSRP was $55,925 and sales price before taxes was like $48,000+ which is probably they best I have seen around. 39 month lease, 15,000 miles per year, $685/month and I paid everything up front which was $4000. When I get the papers in front of me I will give exact numbers but the MSRP is exact and the sales price is approx because I recall the price after taxes at $51,000+ and taxes were I think around $2300-$2400. Also they ate the last 3 payments for me on my current lease and waived the $595 deposition fee.

All I have are some low quality camera phone photos but will have good ones next week. I have a mobile detail guy coming to put paint sealer/sealant on my car and make sure the car is done right as opposed to the way the dealer preps the car for pick up though it looked good to me. He will clay, wax, polish, seal which I need for the NY winters. Maybe the trunk spoiler will be on by then too.

See attached photos, remember these are from the phone but next week I will take the good ones.

Congrats. BTW I think the car should have ambient lighting, however it should be coming out of the spaces between the dash and wood, as opposed to the halo lights in the 211. Haven't seen the 212's lit up in person, but I definitely like the dome ones on mine.

Smart thinking on calling those roses I've been known to "re-package" those things myself.

How exactly did you get such a deal "MSRP was $55,925 and sales price before taxes was like $48,000+" ?
I asked several dealer and they were all so stiff on the price insisting that Germany decreased production by 30% and, therefore, the price is non negotiable / non discount-able

"Ambient lighting is gone but only my wife and baby liked that."
I don`t get it... at mbusa.com there is interior ambient lighting among other luxury amenities.
Or sport package removes it?

No, my sport package has the ambient lighting, either they've removed it for the W4 or its just turned off and needs to be activated.

Sales price was $49,500 I was off sorry and that was before tax. The guy I went through is a leasing broker I think they call it just like a mortgage broker who can shop around for the best rates. My local dealership who I deal with a lot could not match that price at all.

My bad it is under the black ash wood trim, I did not notice it until it was dark and the lights were on.

Here are 2 shots of the interior and I will have all exterior shots tomorrow. I have the mobile detail company coming in the morning so it will look really nice when done.

Not sure if people find the all black boring but I really like it and looks really nice at night too with the ambient lighting. I will try to figure out how to take a night shot. The interior looks better in person than the photos. I am VERY happy that MB got rid of the light gray around the interior of the windshield and the roof and its all black now.

Had some time today to kill at a townhouse inspection so took a shot of it outside with my phone cam. I also put on the trunk lip spoiler that really makes the car look better.

I assume you're talking about the 2-tone interior? I.e the white A-Pillars and roof-lining that comes in the black interior W211's?

That's funny because I'm the opposite, I love the white/black 2-tone interior, I find it to be extremely elegant and classy, yet I will say it is more fitting in the 211, and the all black/monotone color suits the vibe of the 212 more IMO (which is obviously why they changed the color-options around). Can you get a Sport 212 with the 2-tone interior BTW? I know the "Luxury" models come with it.

I have the pre-F.L 211 which still has the very nice/expensive looking "wool/cotton" type material on the A-Pillars before they cost-cut it out, which I think looks great and rich when contrasted with the black under it, along with the nicely contrasted cloth material black window stripping surrounding the interior of the doors. Funny how something that I like so much someone would dislike so much, gotta love how we all see things differently.

Yes the 2 tone, I recall when I test drove the W211 I said I want to make sure the car I get is all black and they said it only comes 2 tone. It wasnt a big deal just distraciting and not my choice. I love it now, all black and my wife (who rarely notices changes in a car) noticed it was darker inside the car. But yeah I see so many opinions on so many different things on these cars, atleast we can all agree we like MB!

This is the 2nd time I put a spoiler on, last time was on my W211 and now the W212 and it is pretty easy. I pretty much can't do anything car related other than keep it clean so this was big for me haa.

What you need to do is use something like Dawn soap with water and clean the area on the trunk where the spoiler will go, this will remove as much wax as possible. I then take the spoiler with the double sided tape still intact (don't remove the tape covering just yet) and I line it up and you will have maybe 2-3mm of space on the each end of the spoiler to the end of the trunk so there will be a tiny amount of space left on each side. I take some blue painters tape and I mark each end leaving tape on the trunk so I know where to situate the spoiler. This time I went another step and put a piece of tape right in the middle of the spoiler and over onto the trunk. I ripped the tape so that when I finally install the spoiler I just line up the 2 halves of the ripped tape sort of like ripping a dollar bill then putting it back together again which I felt really helped this time compared to the 1st time I installed a spoiler.

Then you get a 50/50 mix of Windex and water and put into a spray bottle and spray the trunk from side to side and also down the back of the trunk a little bit. The double sided tape will stick to the top of the trunk and the back/drop off of the trunk so make sure it all gets wet. I ended up using too much this time because after I had the spoiler in place it kept sliding around so I took it off and took a mircofiber towel and glided it over the trunk to remove excess water/windex and I put the spoiler back on, lined up all the tape and then just pushed down real hard in the middle and the ends. I then do that every few inches left to right pushing down.

You have a good 5 seconds to glide the spoiler back and forth so don't worry and should only take you 2 seconds to line it up and then press real hard.

Interesting pics! And beautiful cars! I like the double fogs with AMG bumpers. Though, I hate to say it but the W211's AMG-styling was a little more than the stock bumper in comparison with the W212 AMG vs. stock.

I guess that untrained eyes won't notice that you've changed ride.
