if you want to go for the "bling/show" look go with some DPE S-5 wheels in 23" or 24" from: http://www.dpengineering.cc/
if not go with some 19" /20"/ 22" wheels from Brabus : http://www.cecwheels.com/tuners/tuners.sd?iid=15

Yeah, definitely depends on the "look" you're going for. I personally like these. They aren't a ton of $$ and they look young and aggressive. Cool site too.

Yeah I know what your saying I have a 05' G55 and I have been tossing around the idea for 22s for like 2 years now because I know it rides already rough and my worry is that it will dent a rim or blow a tire and I dont want to pay like $5,000 plus for wheels that will give me problems

I wish it was my G55, one of my good friends (customer) bought it off me and i am trying to help her out, i am thinking Asanti's and probably the 5-spoke rims. Wanted 3 piece but they have to make them special for the car. |

............The G55's ride is a bit rough. I like it. However, I am not sure that the ride will be tolerable by the time you add 22-24 inch rims and low profile tires. Ted |

If you don't want the ride effected - DO NOT UPGRADE!! The ride will be brutal. It is amazing how many used bling rims are out there with a few thousand miles on them. The owners go back to the stock in short order.

Color matched is a good idea but I'd stick with the stock gunmetal 18s. I think Gs with aftermarket wheels look ghetto. Makes me think of Tahoes in Inglewood.

exactly, it will be very hard to find a set that would actually flow with the car and not just slapped on big rims (esp since the car is a box)

....good point Ted, on any car when you upgrade to bigger wheels the ride quality goes down.... i cant imagine what 24" or 26" on G must feel.

Yeah I agree thats why i have been holding off for soo long.......I go on ebay and see G55s with 22s-24s but the thing is they are located in florida and cali where the roads are nice....out here on the east coast the roads suck and you hit pot holes and bumps. Also everytime I go to benz to get the car serviced they always talk about this guy who owns a carwash w/ 26s on his G55....I have no idea how he drives it!

Oldie but a Goodie
The Giovanna Attack (22's or 23's) still look classy but somewhat agressive. I've also seen them in black.
![]() I have to agree and say that the brabus rims would be a better fit if you have some serious $$$ to spend. Brabus also took the weight factor into consideration. Some brabus shots courtesy of MobSteel http://homepage.mac.com/akira107/G/20060409_g61.html

I think it is the greatest sin to change stock wheels, especially when they are AMG special wheels, especially on a car that needs to look rugged and classy and the only wheels that give that image are the AMG wheels. Don't thug up a Gwagon, thug up a navigator or an escalade or a hummer (if you think they are worth buying).

I was with a friend yesterday and he owns a car custom shop and we went for a ride to a store and he had a cup of coffee in his hand and when we were driving the coffee was spilling on his pants because of the ride the G55 gives you and when we got back to the shop i was telling him that i want to order a pair of 22s soon and he told me not even to think about that and how the ride would become alot worse than it is now and i live in boston where the roads are the worse around....he said if i drive down the street and hit just a bump i could dent a rim easy or blow a tire out even with 22s that give you a good size tire other than a 24 inch that gives u a rubberband..........

One of the most frustrating things is to hit a bump and dent your rim or scrape a curb (ATM drive-thru's are the worst). What color is your G? Mine is black and I painted my stock AMG rims black and it looks unbelievably strong. I'll post pics later or tomorrow. I was going to buy the Brabus mono-block and so glad I didn't. I'm sure they would look hot but I am really pleased with the all black look...including the lip.

Did all parts black including badging. I may do MB emblem but not sure yet. Muffler tips also done black. I guess this is the cheap version next to buying rims. I like the look...
