my buddy's bike walkin a 700+rwhp vette

due to the onslaught(mostly newbies) posting bike kills/races in the various forums here I wanted to re-post this vid of my friend with his 40,000mile '04 ZX-10R racing a highly modded supercharged vette putting down 700hp to the wheels.Thats about 300 more hp then your average C6 Vette.....

The bike has a full Akropovic Titanium exhaust, and has been remapped with a Power Commander.Thats it.It makes 169rwhp,stock is 155hp......It's gone 9.1x@155mph at recent private Englishtown track rentals.Bike&rider weigh 615lbs....

This is what happens when a skilled rider on a 1000cc bike races a highly modded car:

Yeah there is no match with a well driven crotch rocket. The hp lbs ratio is amazing.

One question is the front of the bike raising because of the power or is he doing that?

He's doing that on purpose to add insult to injury...at those speeds the front end is pretty well planted to the pavement.A lil throttle manipulation will lift it off the ground relatively easily

racer x is a very talented rider, he is doing that on purpose just to mess with the vette driver.

This is what a truly modded car does to a bike:

ok first video is incorrect. the bike in the video is a 600, not a 1000. the 1000's were not available in that color scheme.

second race is a tt viper against a 600 again, come on now.

third video is a horrible rider, and looks set up to me.

sorry, horrible posts as to what a modded car can do to a bike.

If youd like to discuss turbo viper vs turbo busa lets get a turbo busa w a proper set-up,like a Velocity system instead of a crappy Mr Turbo w 10psi making 250hp.What would the outcome of a 600rwhp 7sec Busa be against the Viper then?

You can go on and on about modifications to each and get in a pissing match about mods but that doesn't solve anything. There are fast bikes and there are fast cars. There are cars that can beat the liter bikes and liter bikes that can beat fast cars. It kind of goes along the lines of there is always something faster argument. But, yes, I agree with you - bikes are very hard to beat when driven properly.

If that VET really has 700+ rwhp, and the driver REALLY knows how to drive, that 170 whp bike would be TOAST from anything above or equal to a 70 punch. From a low roll (0-50), it will take A LOT to beat a 1000. From a high roll (80+), my 520 rwhp Z06 gets the job done..

And your so sure of that how? You must be new to cars racing bikes...your 520 hp Vette will get walked in ANY speed contest by that stock 1k.
When your 520hp Z06 runs 9.15@155mph&130mph in the 1/8mi then, then just MAYBE you have a car that would give that bike a run for its money...you have a 10sec car at best,go away

Ask Bobby how bad he was trounced when he ran a 1000 last week w his Z06

9.1 @ 155mph is definitely moving out...it would take another 150rwhp for that vette to trap that high in a 1/4 run...then on the street it would be more difficult for him to get traction...nice runs

Thankyou

Look,I don't just post stuff to waste people time.I've been dragracing bikes since 1987,Ive had so many streetraces I've lost count over the last 21years.You need ALOT of hp in a car to walk a big-bore bike. Are there cars that are faster then bikes;of course. Is an 8sec all-motor car as streetable as an 8sec all-motor streetbike?No.....

That being said, there are alot more liter+bikes on the road that run 9's bonestock then there are 9sec cars(which none are bonestock). So my point is that 90% of the fast&highly modded(700+rwhp) streetcars will get walked by a stock or slightly modded GSXR-1000 or 1300cc Hayabusa witha skilled rider on board.

And,99.999% of the super-fast(900+rwhp)streetcars will get owned by a highly modded, turbo Busa weighing 400lbs&putting down 600hp to the wheels.

The standing start 1-mile world record for a streetbike is 260.28863mph,which happens to be a 475rwhp Suzuki Hayabusa.Keyword being streetbike....are there faster cars?Yeah, can you drive them everyday back&forth to work w/out melting a $50,000engine?

Because I have more friends with bikes than cars and I have yet to get beat by a stock 1000 from a 85 roll to ~160. They usualy get a 2 bike jump on me and by 160, I am ahead. But, your response was typical of someone that hasn't been in that kind of race.

and It doesn't matter if the bike ran 8.0@200 mph, from an 85 roll and higher, ET and trap speeds on a bike doesn't matter given that it is mostly aerodynamics, which the bike DOESN'T have and hence, sees my taillights @ around 160.. If you know of ANY stock 1000 in MI or want to see some video's (I'd have to make one), just say so..

Bobby might not beat a 1000 even from an 80 roll becuase he is not modded enough. I am probably making 40 more wheel HP than he is. But, what I will tell you is that he will beat any kind of 900 (929, 954 which are a little slower than liter bikes, at least from my experience) bike from a high roll (like an 85 punch). If you don't believe me, have him set up a race and come back here to let us all know what happend. I am even willing to put a little wager on it AS LONG AS the bike is bone stock...

Bobby&I have been trying to set a race up between that very same ZX-10&his Vette for some time now.Pretty sure he's on vaca at the moment but we have absolutely NO problems running&filming a race between his modded Z06&the 10R.And please,do you really honestly think 40hp is all the difference it will take to win?C'mon man..
How much do you want to wager??How will I know I'll get my money from you??:The bike has a PC2&full Akro pipe, that about as stock as you will find here in NY
None of my bikes are stock so racing him will be ridiculous, theres no point

The bike will be in 2nd gear at apporox 10k rpm, right in the heart of the powerband so you will get walked pretty hard against the 10R in the vid.I can't vouch for any of your past races w bikes,so we could go back&forth all day&get nowhere fast.
Bike aerodynamics don't come into play until you approach speeds above 175mph,then a car(like your Z06)has a better Cd.However, power to weight ratio is still much better on the bike at those speeds&the bike wont hit a brick wall aerodynamically until 180(where it takes alot of power to go slightly faster).I will dig up a vid of my buddy running a super highly boosted turbo Supra where they do indeed race from a 75+mph roll...the bike walks it until he runs out of gearing(about 180mph)where the Supra passes him.Can you sit there&tell me your 520rwhp Vette will slay a 900HP turbo Supra from a roll???

I have much respect&love for the Z06;but 520hp will not walk that 170hp ZX-10...we dont even bother filming those types of races because it's a given the bike will win.....

you think 40 extra hp in your z06 is enough to beat a litre bike??? your car is awesome but you're

you've talked about how the z06 is so driver dependant but don't seem to understand bikes are even more so. a properly ridden 600 will keep you in your place this side of 150mph, and a 1000 will kill you. i wish i was in your area to make a little cash!
