good point. and it taking over the top end agrees with my posted sentiments and explanations. the c32 is a beast low down, especially mine.

Above 100 that car would have ripped you a new one and just about any other car out there. Go to the M6 board where they have all the race videos....the car walks on most anything over 100....Ferraris, Lambos, AMG's, etc. It sounds as if whoever you were driving had no clue what they were doing or they were in 400 mode.
The M is a heavy car still and the lower torque ratings make them not real good off the line. I drove a 335i that I thought was faster off the line.

"2) i was shocked by the results. i went home and looked for reasons how this happened. my explanation? torque. the M6 has 383 tq at the crank. BEFORE i installed headers on my car, i dyno'd 359 wheel torque on a dyno dynamics with max torque available very low and a broad tq curve. i certainly picked up hp and tq after the install, so i wouldnt be surprised to see my wheel tq numbers close or higher than the M6's crank tq numbers. 3) had we kept going, i have a feeling that above 90, he would more than likely start pulling back given the car has a V10 with more hp and gearing more conducive to higher speed escapades. my cars background: see sig for mods. before headers, i dyno'd 350whp and 359 wtq on a dyno dynamics (low reading) with 91 octane. i have not dyno'd since the header install." and if you're going to pull the P400 mode thing, then you're just ![]() i dyno above 400 on a dynojet and easily have more than 400 crank hp (450 range). if the M6 were in 400hp mode, with its 300 extra pounds, i would have put a bus or two on it. so this is not possible......and he would have clearly stated he was in p400 mode had he been in it after the race when we talked...but he didn't and as far as them not being a good driver.....how hard is it to utilize SMG? honestly. the guy seemed to be a regular with his racing antics, his wife not being surprised, and from talking to the guy after the race. also, please note this website and the times posted: http://dragtimes.com/BMW--M6-Drag-Racing.html i run mid 12s on my current setup trapping above 111 (and soon to be in the 113 range) on 91 octane at a high DA. so this is completely feasible. and again, i never said he wouldnt have pulled back. if you read what i posted, i mentioned that it was my utterly dominant low end tq that won be the quick run but his hp/gearing would have resulted in his passing me at higher speeds. and somehow you agree that it is slow off the line but yet still insinuate that he was a poor driver and clearly in p400 more ![]() please read the whole thread and posts before commenting, as your comments have already been addressed and provided nothing new/constructive here. thanks
