Just FYI, guys, I spoke with AndyFracica's(from Benzworld) contact Mike, an MB parts rep, and he gave me some information on this. according to his list, 164 820 39 and 164 820 40 64 are the lights that come with the 'sports package', whatever that is. 164 820 27 64 and 164 820 28 64 appear to be the right ones, the lights that are included in the bi-xenon package, but this only applies for Europe. The proper part numbers in the US are 164 820 29 64 and 164 820 30 64. I was quoted around $360 per light. Quite the expensive mod. He was not certain if there was any additional work or if these would be plug and play. |

It looks like it becuase the bottom of the old/new lights are flat, but are you guys sure they fit without one of the facelift rear bumpers? For instance on the Cayenne, Porsche made the new lights incompatible with the old bumpers so you had to buy everything for the new look.
as I prefer the old rear bumper this would be a great upgrade. |

Someone at my dealership had it done on thier 07 AMG 63, but resistors were needed.....The dealership charged them $400.00, just for labour...

i don't think there's any difference between the 09s and 10s. you can tell there's no leds on the side -- the light you see on the side is just reflected.

well not reflected. what i meant is refracted. you can see them on regular taillights as well. there is no direct light on the sides, it's coming from the face of the light and getting reflected back.

I fitted the ebay LED lights to my 2006 ml320. Arrived from Germany. Product is made in Taiwan. Fitted them complete with the resistors attached and they work and look great. No problems with the onboard computer. Ebay seller is very professional and only deal in vehicle accessories.

Hi Jacky:
Did you buy the original LED Tail-Lights from authorized dealer in Taiwan (Capital Motor)? I have a 2007 (08 model) of ML350, and very interesting of replacing the tail-lights too. Are they much brighter than the original one? Any more pictures to share? How much did you pay for them in NT dollar including installation fee? Thanks !! Aaron Lin |

Just visited the dealer and spoke to the technician, and he told me the retrofit for the LED could not be done cause the connector (plug) is different. Would it be possible to let me know where you replaced the OEM LED? Maybe an address or phone no. would be helpful for me. Thanks...!!
