However, if it absolute performance you want, spend the extra 20 grand and get an ML63 or, if the $$$ aren''t there, pick up a Jeep Cherokee SRT and you'll blow off almost everybody on the road. (Until it falls apart, but that's a whole different story.) |

LOL! Thank roadrutz, the wife is very happy with the performance! I am just curious. What about the new X5 5.0 idrive, a friend just picked one up and the ML550 feels like it pulls much harder through the gears. The X5 5.0 jumps nicely, but then it feels like it does not hold its power through each gear. Out of curiosity, why did you go from the X5 to the ML550? - Thanks.

The 5.5 motor....got to love torque, I am sure it pulls relentlesly.

True in stock form. The Trailblazer SS is almost as fast but is super easy to build up and tune compared to the Dodge offering so there are wolves in sheeps clothing running around with bowties on the grill.

Yes, i have seen the 5.6 number, it seems very fast, i wonder how true it is?
Roadrutz: airmatic, is this a new option on the 2010 (adjustable suspension i am guessing) |

It's true. It's faster than my Boxster S (which is a similar 0-60), becuase the boxster is a maunal and the 550 is super lazy fast. I.e push and go.....
Corners on the non airmatic setup are another story though.... |

I recall a couple of magazines testing the 2008 ML 550 and getting figures of 5.2 seconds to 60 mph.
