ML 4matic w/ staggered wheels?

i was driving home on friday and i saw a ml350 4matic with staggered wheels? i have a glk350 4matic with chrome 22's, and when i was shopping for rims i was told i can't run staggered, which is fine. but are ml's different that they can go staggered w/ 4matic's? they were really deep dished in the rears also? From what I understand this will not work with any 4 Matic MB. The consequences are damage to the drive train in a short period of time and constant warnings that there is a problem with the 4 Matic system. The guy you saw if his ML is 4 Matic (they are now available in rwd on the ML350 only) is an idiot.

yes, that is my understanding too. that's why the new E-class 4matic has the same size wheels and the rear wheel drive E-class has staggered wheels.

Only the sport, non 4Matic has staggered wheels. The Luxury version has std wheels. I recently ordered a new E 4 Matic and I ordered the Luxury version to stay away from the low profile tires.
