2001 C220 cdi power probs

i have an 01 c220 cdi it wont go over 3k revs when first started its fine for 2 min then drops is it an airflow prob or i was told it could be something to do with the neutral safety feature? thanks To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

The engine has gone into limp mode for a reason and is limiting your rpm to protect itself. Check you fault codes and go from there. Common reasons are failed MAF/AMM, blocked exhaust, disconnected vaccum line to the turbo or a boost leak.

With those symptoms it ought to have the CEL lit up if it has a bad MAF or a boost issue.

i havnt drove the car in 2 weeks i checked the dash its saying elec. stabil. prog. not available esp.The car drives fine for about 2min then shuts down. any help would be great thanks

To clarify your two posts, initially it drove fine for 2 mins and once warm would not rev past 3k rpm; and now, after 2 mins it stalls?

Is that correct?

it doesnt stall just limits my revs and drives like a straight diesel

Get your car checked for fault codes. Engine, transmission and ESP/ABS. You can't really go far without doing that first.
