) back up camera, wood steering wheel - blah blah blah for wifey today

So..you decided not to go to an auction ?
Was it more expensive at dealer than at auction ?
What's a difference....any warranty ( CPO )

I went to the auction grounds on monday and I was sadly surprised HOW BAD the cars there were. I thought I was in a 07 and it had a door compartment fall off in my hand. As I got out of the car I noticed it was an 08. Wholly crap; car after car I found nothing but project cars. I thought that if I had a shop, that would be fine. BUT to buy a car and them spend . . . . . . . Plus all the fees etc. I was not far off of a dealer number that was aggressive. On my home I called a local MB dealer (2 hours away). I told them I was on my way and when I pulled up, I knew she was the one.

07 / s550 / white with black int. / P2 package / 27k miles / CPO car / and clean clean clean. Show room Clean. SOLD and was most likely only a three thousand dollars higher than the auction with the fees and this car is a CPO car.

I can't agree with you. Auction is the place where bank sells cars after lease expired. Majority of S class leases expire this fall, so on winter time you can buy good car which still on warranty from the auction. You even can check Carfax history before you will bet on it. As long as it's from MB financial and goes on Green light - you safe (assuming this car still on warranty from MB). You still have to check condition of the car visually, but it all depends on you and a guy, who took you to the dealer's auction.
I have one problem with MB CPO - this warranty is only for 1 year after original warranty. So...it means you paying at least $5-$7K more for CPO for 1 year warranty. What can go wrong with 30K miles car during this one year and what is possibility of that chance. Everybody decide for themselves
At least what I see - S550 CPO with 30K miles cost at least (dealer asking price) - $58-$59K and more. I can't say it for sure, but what I see from auction reports you can buy this car for $45-$48K on Manheim.

I have been driving the car for a couple of days and love it until my wife gets the time to clean up the car seats for the kids. Once that is done, the car will go to her and I will go back to driving my '08 E 360. Which is also a great car. DVD's get installed next week. We took them out of our Mercedes R-class (installed at the dealer but aftermarket).

Now the wheel selection will begin.

I am thinking no larger than 20's for wifey.

what do you think of these choices

wheel A = open spoke
wheel B = closed spoke

both wheels can be painted silver for around $500 for the set

Personally, I like the 19" AMG wheels that came with the car better than either choice.

Very good point, and could not agree more with you. CPO's never made sense to me for what you pay when I actually read through the terms.

The ones you looked at for aftermarkets are nice. The AMG are also but those on the rim stands are better imo. I put a few pics of the wheels I put on my car in your other wheels post.
