You don't have the muzzle in all the way? happeened to me where i was waiting 10 minutes and wondered why. It wasn't in all the way so it wasn't filling it fast enough.

From another thread on this subject:
"In case anyone else runs into this problem here is the repair the local DFW dealer performed.
Parts
221-470-06-59 Activated Charcoal Filter
211-440-01-34 Cable Harness
Labor
3.5 hours
The notes from the mechanic state that the shut off value would intermittently stick closed causing the fuel to not fill properly. The charcoal canister was replaced with an updated canister and shut off value.
The total repair cost, which I did not pay all of so I do not know what the actual cost would be, is about $950.
The car is a 2007 S550 with 66,000 miles on it. I have an extended warranty which does not cover this as it excludes the emissions system."

Got it fixed.. Car was in Shop for 5 days. Told me it would be warrantee as it was a plugged Charcoal canister, wiring harness and purge valve. Went to pick car up and the service advisor gave me a bill for $860.00 !!!
I waited for the service manager to come back from lunch.. We went over it and he told me that emissions 8/80 warrantee didnt cover those parts.. We talked about it awile and finally he took care of all but the Labor.. I was quite happy with the outcome and the problem is fixed..

If you have this issue, Check you local emissions / inspection laws, some states require this type of defect/failure to be covered under warranty for late model cars....especially if it causes the vehicle to fail inspection. For Pennsylvania, here is a link:

Anyone know if this issue causes the Check engine light to go on? Or do I have another issue with my car?!
I noticed when I turn the key to position two without the engine on the car has two check engine lights, one that actually spells it out, and one that shows a picture of an engine, anyone know the difference? I have the picture of the engine which goes on and off between a couple of starts.
