Exclamation Hey Guys! Any BMW Fans as well here?

As many of you I am a fan of most German marks, owning Bimmer's, Benz's, and P-cars.

As this site is amazing for MB information , I didn't feel there was a BMW site that was up to par so I launched a new one!

Hopefully all my MBWorld Friends can sign up and check it out and tell me what you think. The site is www.Bimmerpages.com

Please enjoy.

Mods-Admins if this is against the rules I apologize in advance and of course you may delete this post if it is.

There are bimmerfest, bimmerpost, bimmerforums, bmwboard, e46fanatics, m3post, m3forum, m5board, m6board, e90post, etc etc. Which ones are not up to par?

Of course, the most important one right now is 1addicts.com. Bring on the 135!

Well honestly from what I saw on those other forums, you get absolutely blasted if g-d forbid u repost or spell a word incorrectly.

I thought it would be interesting to try and get a more mature BMW board going, worth a shot!

Sorry if I offended anyone.
I've been a member here for a while so I thought it would be ok to share.

Will you get blasted for even hinting that an M5 is inferior in any way?

Good luck .... if it takes off, that means there was a demand for it (and/or it's better than existing)

If nobody tried to one-up existing products/services, where would we be today?

he is right.. If you think its hard here in off topic... Just go visit some of the BMW forums... Mostly because of the fact that it has a lot more 10-18 year olds.

I think your best bet is to not let anybody with an old body 3 series on since 99% of them appear to be little kids driving daddy's car these days and expecting maturity from a bunch of 16yr olds who think they're hot **** isn't going to happen.

Yep the idea is to cater to the modern day BMW owners, but there will always be a few kids in every crowd though.

Nice site. Considering I just bought a 2008 550i Sport --- I'm now a member.
Hopefully you'll get some quality members on there!

Good luck!

Any thoughts on 535 vs 550?

Kind of hijacking the thread but what the hell is the 'i' at the end of the numbers supposed to mean? I haven't seen a single new BMW for about 3 years that didn't have it so why bother putting it? The only reason to add it would be to distinguish it from a car that doesn't have whatever 'i' is but if every single car you sell has that feature or whatever then why waste the time and money putting it on the trunk?

IIRC, BMW first started using "i" with the "New Six" E3 sedans and E9 coupes starting in the late 1960s. The "i" denotes fuel Injection.

It isn't just the last 3 years - BMWs bound for the USA have had them for much longer than that.

It may seem ubiquitous (and useless) to you, because BMW sells gasoline-powered cars in the US and, hence, all of them have the "i"

However, in Europe and elsewhere (and probably will soon in the US too), BMW sells Diesels. Those models are typically designated using "d" or "td"

Once BMW starts selling Diesels in the US, the "i" will no longer be universal here
