Does Texas even have undercover cop cars? It seems to me (and I've never drove in the North) that the North is much more strict when it comes to traffic laws. To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

In Honolulu, the city "subsidizes" (gas and part of purchase price) unmarked PD cars that officers buy with the requisite interceptor packages or equivalent. As a result, there are Mustangs, Explorers, Muranos, Altimas, Chargers, 300s, and other civilian looking cars with removable lights and light bars.

The hardest to make out are the SUVs with the low profile light bars, since the light bar tends to blend in with the roof racks.

The department also has a few black IROC Camaros with markings that are specially tinted to blend in with the exterior paint.

Bloomfield Hills has an XLR-V, but I think it's more for a publicity stunt though (by Cadillac???).

we have a lot in my city, just boca raton itself, I've seen a Hummer and Pickup truck with a cab in the back, a old 94? thunderbird, and old astro van, we have mustangs that hit the streets when the teens go out, these mustangs race you... I saw a new one but I can't remember what it was... The cops just started coming out with Dodge Magnums.

Hoboken has a Wrangler, Liberty, and Durango besides the Crown Vics.

Greenville, SC area has a few 5 Series. I guess BMW gives them away or for very cheap since they have a plant there.

I saw a Land Cruiser up in Maine, and that's about it.

Pete, I've seen the NYPD Taxi cop cars...talk about a mind F.

Do the police departments actually have the authority to seize the vehicle in a case of excessive speeding? I am referring to the case with the Viper. I can understand fines up the wazoo and a serious license suspension, but claiming the car for their own "departmental" use? You're telling me not a single officer takes that car out for some fun?

I wish that were the case. Most P.D.s would be rocking base model 3-series. We all know how obnoxious and douche baggish 97% of 3 Series owners are.

I have no love for any 3 Series vehicle, but it's usually Vinny the greaser from Linden rocking out the 318i that needs to be impaled into the closest telephone poll.

I rarely see those things on the road now, but I just love how so many 325i's want to race with everyone.

Faaaaaaking Highway Patrol!!!!!! I'm sorry, and I do not mean to offend anyone in here, but Highway Patrol is a different breed of **** sucker!!! I cant remember the last time I saw them doing something useful. One Saturday night I was getting onto the 405N from the Sepulveda onramp just north of Sunset, I get on and I see a CHP car flash its sirens, aim the spotlight at me, and turn on the PA system to tell me to pull over. He tells me that I took the onramp too fast (mind you, the ramp was metered and I was driving a 2003 Chevy Tahoe. I had about 50 feet of speed in a fnking Tahoe!!!!) Then he tells me that he wants to check if I'm sober (which I dont care about, I never drink and drive) And at this point I know I'm gonna leave with some kind of ticket, until... My gaurdian angel flew by, traveling at speeds well over 100MPH. That got the douches off my back. And they didnt catch the other guy either. *******s

In NC they run Durangos & Expeditions, blacked out and inconspicuous. Also running Malibus, Chargers, and the other 'normal' unmarked cars.

Dude, they always have someone pulled over there. that stretch is ridiculous. your better off speeding on supelveda b/c they concentrate on the freeway. been pulled over there for "weaving in my lane" or some BS like that when I was dead sober at 3AM. let me off after a sobriety test which was negative

well the pick up is painted state police blue... and when it lights up you know its a cop... Ive only seen it in chase never seen anyone actually pulled over by it...

and the taxi was just a fluke... I dont think that was pulling over speeders, I would have to think that was a full on undercover makin some serious busts

Honestly, I dont mind getting pulled over for some BS reason to give me a sobriety test, but when I pass, youd better let me go, dont give me a BS ticket to meet your BS quota to make the city money. Douche
