Obviously I'm not going to whip out a machine gun with a 100rd drum for home protection(unless its the LA riots again or something). I just want one for the novelty and the fun factor of taking it out and mowing down a tree with my rifle.

They have to be delived to somebody with an FFL(Federal Firearms License) so you could buy over the net but still have to get it delivered to a local gun store. Check out www.gunbroker.com

Thanks that site showed a couple in my area, I will stop by tomorrow morning and speak with them and see what they have in stock or have it shipped to them. I guess for the most part any of the aforementioned rifles would be more than adequate right?

I, on the other hand, would love to see the cop's face when he saw that same burglar with a 40mm grenade sticking out of his chest...

Yeah, tell them you're looking for an AR15 or AK style rifle and they'll be able to help you out. They'll be better too because in person they can show you examples and get feedback on the feel and stuff.

Can someone shed a light about the Long Island Nassau laws? I know from the their PD site, to get a hand gun i must get references from my neighbors, but there is not much info about rifles. Do I need to do anything to get a semi-auto?

That's too bad, all that $$ spent on the M204 and all you can do is send out smoke signals... If I can't shoot frags or HE rounds then I'm not buying.

Do you have a firearms ID card? Look it up on the net. Then check with the local gun shop.

So let's say you were able to obtain an HE round for the M204, where in the hell would you be using it? Fishing maybe? That's the only activity I can come up with that is more or less plausable.

Also not a bad reason, I can just imagine coming out on my balcony in South Brooklyn and firing out of the grenade launcher. I can definetly hit a passing subway train about 100 yards away. That would be way cool!

I'm going to the shop in about an hour, and I'll see what they have and recommend. What do you guys say is the primary purpose of your rifles

The primary purpose is to stockpile guns and ammo to arm unarmed friends in the SHTF scenarios.
