Loud. A bit too ricey for me. I like a more deep V8 grumble.

It’s beyond my comprehension why nlpamg, Cylinder Head, Carl Lassiter - and their ilk –
would choose to pilot a 500 horsepower, 8250 RPM V10.

I think it sounds amazing! I hate it when people say it's ricey, that's how it sounds. That's how a V10 sounds, that's how F1 cars sound, they aren't ricey. And most $h!ty Civics I see don't sound anything like that. It is just a tiny bit loud, but I don't mind that.

No it's not how F1 sounds. On the surface, it might, but listen closely. The F1 exhaust note always sends chills up my spine, this doesn't.

Well, yeah, they're even higher tuned, and of course spinning more than 2x as fast as this. But I still love this sound, this particular setup reminded me of a Gallardo, sounds less raspy than the Evosport system.

I think it sounds like ass on that video. It sounds like in person with the drivetrain under full load it should sound pretty exotic and probably good in its own way.

Then again I'm a V8 sound fan. Just the perfect harmony with 8 cylinders IMO.

x2 on it sounds like ass.

Nothing sounds as good as a two-stroke V12 Detroit Diesel.

That exhaust sounds too choppy and whiny. And as great as that V10 may be, it just doesn't touch the sound of a properly uncorked E39 M5.

Now that is a smooth V10.

On the first one, that does sound ricey.

E39 was the older body style, and came with a V8 rather than a V10. Good motor too. The new V8 in the M3, which is more or less an S85 with two cylinders chopped off, is perhaps the only exhaust note in BMW's V8 history that can top it, in my opinion.

I've heard much nicer sounding M5's. This one for instance.

I like the sound of the Eisenmann on my E55 better. It's about as loud as that M5 too. Just waiting for the snow to melt and I'll get some sound clips of it on the street. It's about twice as loud as the clip in my sig when under load.

I never liked the way BMWs sound. Even the E39 M5 fell short of sounding like a true rumbly V8.

A proper big displacement V8 paired with an aftermarket exhaust (and perhaps a cam ) should vibrate the ground at idle when you're standing next to it. You guys have been to dragstrips, you know what I'm talking about.

Here's still my favorite one: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/G...otor_29032.htm

Sorry, I don't hate the V8 sound but I think a great high-revving small displacement sounds so much cooler. Just my opinion. But the M and AMG v8s sound pretty amazing, the 6.2 is insane

I understand your point, but that would go against the whole doctrine of what makes the M car what it is today. There is nothing wolf in sheeps clothing about a cam lobe that makes the earth tremble in its wake.
