No probably like everything else with this administration it will be at the taxpayers expense, in other words...your dime!

Next on the horizon for big goverment is potential mandatory drug testing for anyone on welfare, unemployment or anyone seeing $.01 from the goverment.(not that i am condoning drug use, however this has been proposed and has been on the news lately as well)

No, if purchased before the 2011 deadline if passed we will be exempt, they would however be able to screw w/any dark colored cars bought AFTER the bill went into effect. Trust me there is slim to none chance a Bill like this will pass.

Oh dont get me wrong. I agree with you about that. Problem is if your gonna drug test the people on welfare, unemployment or anyone else having their lives subsidized with federal or state money then how about everyone on Wall Street taking tax payer dollars? Arent they accepting goverment bailout funds? I wonder how many Wall Street people are hooked on to something? Noone is talking about drug testing the CEO's that ran these companies into the ground. how about those guys accepting billions and then still collapsing?!?! If you wanna test some, why not test them all? I wonder how many banks would be denied funds cause their employees are addicts?

I had a discussion with some of my friends about this and came to the same conclusion. This would definitely be a step in the "No black" direction; I can already see MLK rolling in his grave. Absolutely ridiculous. I really hope your right Ricker and this doesn't pass...

If that's the case though, why not just not equip black cars with AC? Heck it could save us speed junkies a couple pounds anyways.

.............owners of large gricultural farms, defense contractors, recipients of no bid contracts, energy companies etc. And of course all major banks in the United states. should all these people pee in a cup for drug testing?

......For those fixated on wellfare recipients, you may wish to do a little bit of soul searching and find out why is it that you only considered those on wellfare when you thought about mandatory drug testing. Are you biased, or just ignorant or just not knowledgeable enough to understand that there are different types of wellfare recipients? Teachable moment for your soul. Is it not wellfare when government money is given to the rich?

This is ridiculous - not only the initial CARB decision, but the generalizations about this in relation to Democrats.

I'm a California moderate Obama voter who believes in gun rights and hates tree huggers - but that doesn't mean I ascribe this decision by CARB to all the "CALI LIBERAL NUTS." That's dumb.

By the way, I, like many here am also in the largest tax bracket and am as competitive and Type A as many here - I'm a cardiac surgeon for god's sakes. So I, of course, could hate this administration for everything.. but I don't, because there's more problems in the world than how I can't afford a 911 GT2 vs a 911 GT3 because the tax laws will be repealed.

However, I'm informed, and I don't jump to conclusions. Its part of what I do everyday. Like many here, I was pissed beyond belief about this. I love black. Owned many a black car, blacked out my race prepped Audi (flat black rims) and my next car.. will be black. I was about to go and find that CARB office and park my black cars outside in protest.

But I spent time reading what they were saying. Not only was this not an official policy, it was on a powerpoint slide with a suggestion of it. Furthermore, CARB has backed off their initial thoughts on implementing this due to the correct outrage expressed by car enthusiasts by all of us here. They simply will try to increase reflectivity of the glass.

Does that mean that I'm responsible for this stupid decision? No. Does it mean that all Obama voters are responsible for this? No.

Please stick to the facts and don't generalize to people who had nothing to do with this.

Don't mistake economic conservatives with gift giving. ALL industries and agriculture should be self sustaining without handouts. The governments involvement should be nothing more then on safety issues, common use item like water/police/fire/military and anti-monopoly regulations and abuse oversight. The state should provide help only to those who are physically incapable of helping themselves.
