Goldman Sachs in Talks to Acquire Treasury Department

http://secondpagemedia.com/blog/?p=193

Quote:
In what some on Wall Street are calling the biggest blockbuster deal in the history of the financial sector, Goldman Sachs confirmed today that it was in talks to acquire the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) closed the day unchanged at $156.84 per share, with analysts already pricing in the takeover potential. An analyst for Goldman Sachs upgraded Goldman Sachs to compulsory buy from strong buy, and also raised their price target to $∞/share.

According to Goldman spokesperson Jonathan Hestron, the merger between Goldman and the Treasury Department is “a good fit” because “they’re in the business of printing money and so are we.”

The Goldman spokesman said that the merger would create efficiencies for both entities: “We already have so many employees and so much money flowing back and forth, this would just streamline things.”

Mr. Hestron said the only challenge facing Goldman in completing the merger “is trying to figure out which parts of the Treasury Dept. we don’t already own.”

Goldman recently celebrated record earnings by roasting a suckling pig over a bonfire of hundred-dollar bills.

I was under the impression that GS had bought up all of the Treasury's stock in the form of Senators, Congressmen and of course Hank Paulson years ago.

Rumor No. 1: “Goldman Sachs controls the U.S. government.”

Every time we hear the phrase “the United States of Goldman Sachs” we shake our heads in wonder. Every ninth-grader knows that the U.S. government consists of three branches. Goldman owns just one of these outright; the second we simply rent, and the third we have no interest in at all. (Note there isn’t a single former Goldman employee on the Supreme Court.)

this doesn't surprise me. GS and the FED have been in bed with each other for years. the FED sacks the economy and hands some of it's control to GS.

now, let's see what goodies JP Morgan Chase can get out of this since they are in bed with the FED too.

the race to Socialism is in full stride now.

Oh no!

He believes it, doesn't he?

Not only does he believe it's true, but he thinks the privatisation of the Treasury would would be part of "the race to Socialism".

This is funny.

Calm down. It is not true. GS is NOT acquiring the treasury. It is just a joke. Calm down.
