Ducks looked liked absolute crap today. They better fix the chemistry issue before they get here to Boston in 5 days. I can't handle another 6-0 defeat while I'm trying to rep my team in a hostile environment like I did last year.

I was at the game, and I was ready to leave after the second period. It was like watching an AHL team. Scotty fumlbed some pucks, Hiller let in a soft goal. At least Koivu got the first official game out of the way, so he's ready to go. He and Teemu looked amazing during the preseason.

No worries, 1 game out of 80+. Sharks lost their first game as well.

They definitely looked better last night....until they gave up a four goal lead. At times they look so dominant, and I think that is the team they will be at the end of the season. I just hope they don't get embarrassed by Boston again.

Not that anyone else cares, but the Rangers have retooled half the team, bringing the average age down at least 5 years. And these guys can move!

How cool is is for a 19 year old rookie, starting for the first time in an NHL home opener in front of a packed house that includes his entire family...and he blasts in a key goal. Against an Ottowa team that hasn't lost in the Garden in years.
19!

Yup, they played 40 minutes of good hockey. Need to finish the game playing hard though. They better step it up tomorrow. I dont know if I was more pissed about them losing the 3 goal lead, or the fact that I watched it live, sat through the commercials, and they lost.

gonna tivo tomorrows game....Are you going to the game?

Sure am! Not sure if I should just go with the Ducks hoodie or bust out the Getzlaf t-shirt like I did last year.

Wolski off to a great start - Avs go for 3-0 tonight and almost as unlikely a start as their football neighbors!

That would be awesome! I think I'll go with the hoodie with the Getzlaf T underneath. That way, if it gets too warm at the rink I'll get to rep big ole #15.

T shirt night is the 17th. I'll see if I can convince someone to give me an extra one. I think they're black this year though.

Might as well go with both!!! Hope to see you on TV representing the Ducks.

GO DUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, go Angels too!!!

Going to see the Avs in San Jose tonight. John-Michael Liles may return to the the ice after missing a couple weeks with injury.

Have fun at the game! Avs are kicking ass this season. Sure as hell surprised me. Ducks are pathetic at the moment. If they lose tonight I might do bad things.

BUMP!

Ducks are still crapping the bed. They seem to be great some nights and just ridiculously bad others. But, it seems as though Randy Carlyle has found something in the 2nd line (Ryan-Koivu-Sexton) so that's a good thing. Who knew an injury to Selanne could bring about good things? They play Detroit tonight so we'll see how that goes.

Can't wait for the Olympics to start. I'll post up the rosters when they're official.

Not sure how many of you have seen this but it's still funny as hell.

If the NHL was a high school

Anaheim would be the kid that beats you up and steals your lunch money.

Atlanta would be the slutty cheerleader everyone scores on.

Boston would be the kid who you want to like…but you can’t because he smells.

Buffalo would be the kid who never can afford to go anywhere or do anything.

Calgary would be the bipolar popular chick who can please many people when she’s up but when she’s down she tries to commit suicide.

Carolina would be the farmer kid with a mullet.

Chicago would be the really old kid that has yet to hit puberty.

Colorado would be the kid who did really well in elementary school and is just a slacker now.

Columbus would be the kid who puts rims on his bike wheels and pretends he’s driving a BMW.

Dallas would be the kid with the weird accent.

Detroit would be the foreign exchange student.

Edmonton would be the kid that was accidentally castrated in the early 1990’s and hasn’t been the same since.

Florida is the kid who can never fit in.

Los Angeles would be the kid who always misses school.

Minnesota would be the kid who’s older brother was an All-American jock who got all the girls and success, but he is just a water boy.

Montreal would be the kid who wants to trade you his apple for your Subway sandwich.

Nashville would be that kid with the dad in the military. He’s cool, but you don’t want to be best friends with him because you know he’ll be moving soon.

Ottawa would be the kid that breezes through the school year and then blows the final exams.

Phoenix would be the kid that nobody knows.

Philadelphia would be the kid who’s always suspended.

Pittsburgh would be the crybaby tattle tail.

New Jersey would be the really boring kid.

New York Islanders would be the kid who has his/her whole life planned out already. Or at least the next 14 years.

New York Rangers would be the rich kid.

San Jose would be the kid that always over studies for the finals and ends up bombing them.

St. Louis would be the smooth talking kid who gets you to trade your snack pack to him for half an apple.

Tampa Bay would be the prom queen who got pregnant and now she’s not the same as she used to be.

Toronto would be the girl with major issues.

Washington would be the class clown. Entertaining, but ends up going nowhere.

Vancouver would be the kid that has good marks all year, then skips the finals to smoke weed and fails.

So I have horrible news for the taxpayers of this board:

It turns out the people of Detroit are spending their bailout money and welfare checks on paying off the refs at Red Wings games. Sad day in NHL history tonight.

I have no doubt it will be the Caps vs. Devils in the ECF. That should be a great series.

I kinda feel sorry for the Thrashers. They were looking so much better this season. It's a shame they couldn't have gotten more for Kovalchuk and helped out their cause a bit.

Easy there Tiger. I said they would make it to the SC, I never said anything about winning. We all know Eastern Conference teams can't compare to teams in the Western Conference.

I watched a bit of the game today. Even with Kovalchuk, the Devils are STILL the most boring damn team to watch in the NHL.

Brodeur a great goalie and all, but that team is none too exciting.

The Avs' rookies on the other hand...

Can you please explain to me what is so boring about "Winning".
