I'd be happy to give some members of congress a "tea bag"

Aside from sending a tea bag to your representative does the man on the video give you a patriotic feeling or is he just another talking head?

Thanks for that post

Great stuff, this country is past the tipping point. Problem is we allow people to vote that don't contribute ( i.e. pay taxes). I agree buy a gun if you don't already have one...

Think this is a repost (or maybe it was from another forum), but I certainly agree with some of it. But then again, I'd say a true American should appreciate this (even if she is from one of those silly scandanavian countries):

People always call Californians weird, but they did pass Proposition 13.

Dude I've said it a bunch of times, congress is corrupt and should be all chopped into pieces and dumped in a river
He's absolutely right, our elected officials are criminals!
**** it, it's much easier just commenting on Youtube than protesting

I can't believe this dude is on youtube, wearing attire from hundreds of years ago
Anyways, he points out a few things, some which are irrelevant in scope but here they ar
- repeal congress right to vote themselves raises
- balance the federal budget
- make them (congress) pay into social security
- term limits
- let them (congress) get a 401k
- pay their own insurance premiums
-- conclusion: throw all congresspersons out of office

Some of the above are obvious, like term limits, but the rest are kinda minuscule compared to the bailouts and economy. And "balancing the federal budget" is much easier said than done. Every federal department should face a 40% budget cut over the next 4 years, that'd be my #1 priority if I were in Obama's position.

The rest dwelves into Ron Paul like ideas where they sound okay, but really have no over all effect like
- don't start wars unless we intend to win it
- make english an official language
- bring back universal service

really none of those make any sense, maybe the war one could've gone down much better but that's more of a failure management and a lack of a clear goal. english is already a global default language... and regarding universal service; there needs to be less people on the gov't tit.

Wow, less then 10% of people responded to this question.
My guess is that most Americans lead a busy life and have no time to weigh in on political issues.

I really hope you're not using the MB World forum as a measure of "most" americans!
I didnt weigh in because I come here for a laugh mostly-not brain damage-
most of the threads (Im thinking 99% of them) end up giving me brain damage from people that want to get a point across-but choose a poor example that gets torn to shreds by trolls.....
wait...thats me.

I'm hoping that someone might chime in with a different point of view and intelligently defend it.

I would, but I don't have a silly costume or a candle to give me the necessary credibility.

I find it odd that all you got out of that video is a silly costume and candle

I though you might say that you are not an American

Sorry: there's the silly costume, the candle, and the incoherent, baseless ranting: I forgot to mention the incoherent, baseless ranting.

I was assuming that the costume was supposed to give him a bit of gravitas, because the content of his speech certainly didn't.

Granted, however warranted in this case.

Hey! I'm 5 ft 7 1/2, I'll have you know. When I lived in Hong Kong, I was a veritable giant. Not here though.

I understood it. I just thought it was jaw-droppingly dumb.

And as a socialist, you would think that freedom is a bad thing.

Can you explain why you thought that it was "jaw-droppingly dumb"

Well, yes, there's that too.

I'm just curious why you grant judgement on american-related matters when you know nothing of them. Very odd behavior.
