It's unfortunate that the car isn't that easy on the eyes

but if you see it in person you might feel a little different

the car just isn't photogenic....that's the problem

Problem is its ugly.......Having owned many 996 and 997 Turbos I was one of the ones picked to see the Panamera more than a year before any photos were revealed ....They had a CL63 and an S63 as comparison.....The front of the Panamera looks decent but the rest is all wrong and the interior is awful compared to the CL and S....I prefer a knob and the rich looking interior of the MB than the multitude of knobs buttons etc and cheap looking interior of the Panamera....at least on a luxury sedan thats what I would prefer...MB cant touch Porsche in sportiness, drive, feel or anything else when it comes to the Sports cars....Panamera on the other hand......awful execution and it shows as my dealer friends say Panamera isnt selling at all

So far its a pretty nice vehicle.
Like most vehicles there's a break in period so I haven't stomped on it yet.
The interior is great. And the new iDrive is definitely improved.
The only negative (like all Bimmers I've owned) is that the electronics are slow. The back up cameras and sensors are fully running after I've finished backing up. Sometimes BMW goes over the top with gadgets.
I do, though, like the automatic high beam sensors.
And I have to use the tired excuse that the vehicle looks much better in person.

I dont really hate the X6-M styling as I do the Panamera...I mean for an SUV...SAV whatever...LOL....Im not really a truck guy at all, but, at least its different and not in a terrible way than all the others....Id rather drive an X6 than an X5, Cayenne, ML, GL Range rover, any day of the week if I were driving a truck anyway...Def drivers choice

I saw one of these in person this past weekend near my house. It was black and very clean like it just came out of detail. I have to say, that as ugly as the pics are, it didn't look like a total disaster in person. I am curious to drive one myself actually. Not saying I like the car ...

they showed it on Test Drive on Speed channel, of course usual glorifying that goes on that show...
to me it looked ugly from all angles, not to mention absolutely quiet inside, yet they had the nerve to call it a sports car

ok so just for ****s and giggles I did a "Build your own" on their website. And if you option this thing out all the way you could hit $200K. Which is freaking ridiculous.

Chip, what made you take the X6 over the X5. I would love to get an X5M but that's some time away. Lovely ride though and would love a detailed report when you get more miles under it....

I was going to paste the LFA thread in here for a good cpmarpo on absurd pricing-but I cant find it (really, I cant-where did it go?)
$200k for a Porsche isnt that bad-a C4S Cabrio is $120K Turbo's GT2/3 are more-$200k for a 4 door all new platform from a great German company (until VW takes over-then all bets are off) is reasonable to me.

come on, what'd you do check every box LOL. Trust me, i know the porsche options list as well as anyone. I just built one as I would build it for myself and it's under 145K. Still not chump change but NO ONE is going to spec this out for 200K.

179? geez, what boxes are you guys checking. trust me, there would be no need to go near that kind of price with options.

Didn't you see the small box with the option for a Toupée matching the color of the car?
That alone is $30k.

Granted I could stip it down-but who wants too? If I'm ever shelling out more then $100k on a car-the extra $10k here or there to make it a value on trade or resale is a def. +-I cant tell you how many times I looked at trades that the orig owner didnt want all the hoopla on the build to order they got-yeah, it saved you $10k up front-and made your trade in a Homorphidite that wholesalers walked away from....

I agree with you on one thing - if you're building a car yourself get it exactly the way you want and don't worry about a little more.

With that said though, most of these options will bring back very little come trade/sale time.

My TT stickered around 123K and I ended up building it for 150K. PCCB's, lots of extra leather and CF. I know when it comes time to trade it in i'm getting zilch on all those little extra bits of leather.

I knew that going in but didn't care. I didn't buy it for the next guy. One of the beauties of porsche is that they do give you the oppty to basically build a "custom" car to some extent. There's probably not another slate grey 997TT exactly as mine. makes it kind of cool.

I think X5s look a little long in the tooth. I was tossing around a Cayenne Turbo S and an X5M at first but neither appealed to me. They're really getting stale and the Porsche was overpriced. The X6M took awhile for me to warm up to but now that I have one I don't know why the choice wasn't apparent to me from the get go. It is the perfect size for me (my Cayenne GTS was overkill spacewise)

I now have 2600 miles on my X6M and am just starting to play with its power.
It's wicked fast for a 5300lbs vehicle. It feels smaller and more like a car than any SUV I've driven. The steering is what you'd expect from a BMW, precise (though I'm not quite use to the variable steering).
The ride is firm but not overly harsh. My Cayenne is rougher.

My only complaints, so far, are minor:
-I hate the shift lever. You push ackward buttons to move between different modes. There's no tactile sensation when going from drive (or reverse) to park. BMW is asking for a lawsuit. Someone is going to accidently leave anX5 or X6 in gear and run over a kid.
-The electronics are slow.

Other than that I'm really happy with the SUV(SAV). It's faster, better looking, and of a higher quality than I expected. If you really don't need the extra cargo space I highly recommend the X6M. And if you have time take delivery in Spartanburg.
And the Sakhir Orange is a great interior color. It's more of a deep red tan an orange.

Yea exactly...Nobody builds Porsche's to price out near 200k unless they're sniffing glue...All my 997TT's, Ive owned 3 were between 130-140k....140k being the cabrio....
There are only a few must have options like adaptive sport seats, sport chrono turbo, porsche torque vectoring, short shifter, heated seats, bluetooth, sat radio, and ipod hookup....everything else is just fluff and worthless imo and all loss on resale...My last 997tt was a 2008, so prices were cheaper, but just priced a 2010 out and was at 141k...which to me for what u get is still inexpensive,,,Nothing like a 997TT imo

Hello, my name is Charles. I own a CL65 which will be returning from Detroit (where the work is done; Motorwerks Group) with a VRP 850 stage 3 package. I don't know the exact statistics yet, but according to the other two cars (in the world) that have had the work done, horsepower is approximately 900, and torque is approximately 1,075. (This is because of a few other air filter and flash upgrades done by Motorwerks Group because it took longer to expected to custom fabricate the intercoolers) The following clip shows a CL65 with a VRP kit with about 150 less HP, and 200 less torque running the quarter mile in 10.73@130.76:

BTW, someone driving a CLS shouldn't be knocking a car because of looks. You drive a cigar on wheels.
