Shooter is a Major in the Army and he's a Psychiatrist for the military.

Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan ... supposedly a recent convert to Islam was just stated.

I am def quite interested in knowing if he was a recent convert to Islam. It's quite clear that he wanted to serve his country(ROTC in college, USUHS, etc).
This article states that he was 39, but if he graduated college in 1997 at the age of 22, and then got his MD at 26(in 2001) it would seem that he is 34. Interesting to note that he was also unmarried.

I'm on my 12th deployment to the sandbox. At least for me, a contractor, I can quit at any time, unlike most currently in the military.
Deploying to the Main and Secondary AO's just suck, period! I can understand his frustration.

Regardless, this Major Nidal Malik Hasan does not have the right to take the lives of the innocent. This is so unfortunate.

frustration for what?! he signed the dotted line like the rest of us... tough **** if he doenst like it.. he should have persued a different career if he didnt like the idea of getting deployed... when my orders come, ill start packing

Shep was talking to his cousin, he has always been muslim, not a convert.
He had never been to Iraq or Afghanistan, was set to deploy in Jan.
He was getting more and more vocal; "it is wrong for the US to be over there, muslims should not fight muslims..."
His cousin said he does not understand why he did this "he is a great American" Bullsh*t he lost all that when he pulled the trigger.
