Thumbs up 450sel

Does anyone know the dimensions of a 1978 450sel. I can't find the length of this car anywhere else. Is this model better than the early w126 class. To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

The 116 is quite a bit wider than the sleak 126. There is no comparing the 2 cars. The 126 is a much better designed car and overall way superior to the 116.

Love the W126 myself, don't get me wrong. But there would be something pretty sweet about a euro 450SEL 6.9 if one could find one

I must admit that rebirth of M100 was a display of MBs ability to build a muscle car, but it would have been even better if they had waited a few years and put it in a decent chassis. I'll probably get a lot of hate mail in this forum, but I'm very familiar with the 116 since I did the PDIs ( pre delivery inspections ) on them when they first came out. They were bulky, had no style, and were over engineered. The 126 is a very simple well engineered chassis. I'm only disappointed in the fact that MB seems to have lost interest in the car during it's production run and never evolved it like hey did with the 124. As an example the 91 126 still did not have a window and roof closing feature when you locked the car. That feature was incorporated into the 124 starting in 90. The only upgrades on the 126 were electric right mirror in 83 and interior in late 89.
