You bought that car as it is from the previous owner?
It's just a normal 6.9. AMG cams have AMG stamped on the firewall end of each cam shaft. You can remove the covers and use a mirror to read what is written there. Factory cams have 'L' Or 'R' and a number 19 or 18 and other numbers depending on when the car was built .
It's chassis number 116.036-22-001765 so it's pretty close to a Euro delivery 6.9 I have at the moment.( #1738) so I can vouch for the better performance of the high compression cars compared to the low compression versions delivered to the USA and Australia.
AMG only did what you paid for, from a simple set of wheels to a full engine job at 14,000 DM. There are plenty of AMG 6.9's out there and probably only 12 AMG enhanced performance 6.9's including at least two 7.2 liter conversions.
When you have driven one of those you soon appreciate the big difference between the' body kit' cars and the real deal. The nearest comparison is a hi perofrmance motor cycle acelerating at full throttle. There was no other comparable car 30 years ago.

AMG cams were installed in 2002 bought them in 2000 for 3700DM in HAGEN,GERMANY. when I bought it had partial AMG body kit,and AMG imported it into the US and there was a AMG sticker on the door that was not legible...The car is worth more in pieces,I want a 15-20ft Runabout boat for it...
This car did 151 mph 2 days ago with no top-my speedo is correct,no i don't have video...without question it will outrun any stock NA euro 6.9,,US 6.9's are not even in the same universe as far as the performance....last dyno it hit 247hp/340TQ--last month it did 221hp/315tq at GTR performance but I could not hold the trans from shifting,GTR did say however it was the first Mercedes they had ever tested so it was tought watching my car hit 221 when I know there is a lot more on tap....

as far as i am concerned though this is a 15-20ft runabout boat waiting to happen----I will trade it for a boat this year or early next

That's the model that made me realize that when I grow up, I'm getting a Mercedes. Wow. Really nice copy of the dream.
