Get a 6.9!
Just kidding, but the 300SD is a great car. My father had one that he drove over 500k miles with very little maintenance. He drove it until it wouldn't fire anymore, then scrapped it. Properly maintained, that car would have gone another 500k.

Your best bet is a 300SD or a 450. The M117 engines are fantastic, any car you buy will need some refurbishing by this time, but a 450 will outlast a 280.
