Center Console on a W126

How do you remove the center console or side panel to get at the carpeting over the transmission tunnel? To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

Do you know about the screws under the ashtray?
The following is for my '89 300SE, yours might be different.

If you remove the ashtray drawer, push the release to slide out the ashtray and lay to one side.
Remove the two screws there under the drawer.
Move away the ashtray assembly.
Take out leather coin cup.
take up wood panel w/window switches.

Thats as far as I know- we stopped there to replace a window switch, hope this is a good start.
