hi, is there another place to get these LED strips?
i have a w220 02 model. vertex the only place or did you get better item/price anywhere else?

also, i've had a left reflector bulb check warning light intermittently and occ the old LED doesn't flash, on my driver side. any warning msg. after chaning to the new LED strip?

Mine are from vertex and they are fine.... Check the connection from the strip...also you should test the strips before you install... If the strip is bad which can easily be the case.. send back and they will replace

ok, did you get yours from ebay or directly from vertex...
their website says $150. i thought i read somewhere you/or someone got it for $100. for a pair.... pls advise.

also, i have the old LED/OEM and they intermittently are causing problems....it flashes but i get occ. warning msg lately that it's bad....

Wow,

Your right....vertex direct website says 149.00...It was 83.00 a week ago.

oh, btw, how diff. or same is the unit vs. the OEM MB product? is it as bright? the current ones are bright but i don't think the light diffuses as much to the side since all the LEDs are in the medial portion of the mirror....
the all clear looks alot nicer i agree...

OK, in looking at the pics...I have a stupid question. Are the side LED lights perpetually on when the other lights are on...meaning do they stay on constantly kind of like the larger Ford trucks like the F-350, etc ? I am guessing the answer is yes since a couple of the pics show both side mirror lights on at the same time and the blinkers normally couldnt be blinking at the same time.

The side mirror and headlight blinker bulbs blink simultaneously...They only flash with the signal is switched on or the hazards are flashing. in the night picts I had the hazards flashing.... It was fun trying to time the photos.(lol)

With the help of benzondubz, have manged to fit the new LED,s but whilst they work the flashers flash too fast, and I get an eror message on the dash telling me to check the mirror lights. Anyone else experienced this? or can anyone tell me what I have done wrong.

it's probably due to the lower power consumption, low impedenace issue....
has any one figured out if adding a resistor to the circuit would fix this?
if so, what ohm?

I have not had this problem. Mine was plug n play from Vertexracing.com Check your head lamp signal bulb and a tail light signal bulb and make sure you have the right bulb, this will cause that problem

ps. Use theSylvania SilverStar 7507AST
High Performance Signal Light Bulbs for the color match of the newer LED'S ...kinda of orange

The old mirror light and headlight signal indicator are yellow.

Yeah, I had the same problem. Finally figured it out. When I put the mirror cover back, I pinched the red and black wire from the signal light and slightly shorted it out. Rerouted the wires and now everything works perfect. Good luck.

I don't believe it comes on with just the lights. It only blinks with the turn signal or hazard as someone stated above. But, I saw a Maybach tonight, and they stayed on all the time. Looked pretty nice that way. Maybe someone can figure out a way to mod it.

Thanks for the E Mail.

No I have still not resolved the issue, and I just cannot see why it is happening. I have put the old units back and they work fine so it is obviously something to do with the new ones or the way I am connecting them. The connections are slightly less positive than the originals in that the two pin connectors are quite flimsy, and do not "snap" in. You will see what I mean when you take the mirror casing off.

I am going to try again next week when I have more time, but let me know your experience.

well, sorry to hear that. i'm thinking maybe i shouldn't have ordered that ...
the one from vertex racing does not have this issue i dont' think....
the first thread here...he got his from vertexracing...
the one you got is from the vendor in hongkong right?
i'm paying $18 for shipping...
got it for $98 total... not here yet....
the contact shouldn't matter... if the light comes on, the contact is good.

hope i don't have to put a resistor in line to incr the impedance, etc...
pain in the ass then....
let me know how yours work out....

any comments guys?

Yes I am afraid so, both sides flash really fast, and an error message comes up on the dash telling me to check the lamps.

Don't really know where to go from here, bought them from a company in Liverpool (UK) who are just importers, and they tell me that they have not had this problem before. As I said I am going to have another go at fitting them again next week when I have more time, in the mean time any suggestions gratefully received.

Make sure you are plugging these things in right? I hope you are trying to Plug the led's in before mouting them in the housing ?? flip the connector's etc. and then once you get it right...mount in housing and slide back on(very careful).
