i snapped part of the plastic housing off, the piece that the three bolts go through. Ill glue it back. but this cover still will not slide off! To remove this ad, register today or login if you already are registered!

I dunno man, you definitely have to finagle the housing off/on, by tilting, turning, and moving the mirror (glass) itself. As far as your gap, maybe you haven't slid it on far enough pass that retainer clip. A flashlight helps to see what/where things are. Post some pics

okay so ive got the housing off on one side, im trying to replace the seals, how do I disconnect the two wires going to the plug in for light/blinker strip?

did this mod today.... so simple with the video upload thank a bunch. for those who cant figure the clip out its a silver clip on the inner side of the sidemirror "closest to car".. seen easily with a flash light....

i jus did mine and one of the signals burned out on me in 2 days ...bought off mini-something from ebay and after i told him the problem he sent a new one right away not bad!

i did notice when i took the housings off the mirrors the rubber that sits between the mirror and car is breaking apart like dry rotting anyone else having this problem??

i found it easier, follow others instructions in this thread about how to remove mirror cover, push tab up, maneuver mirror until you can pull casing off, then youll need to go inside, (ill post the PDF later), remove various screws holding door panel on, then youll need to get to the back of the window switch control module, the wiring harness to the mirrors plugs into the back of this, unplug it and then unscrew the mirror via 3 torx T15s (?) and pull out with wiring harness. Replace seal and reverse instructions

Mine are turning yellow and fading. I'm going to toss them out later on.

If anyone knows the cost on the > 03 oem's, I'll go that route.
If not, I'll just put back the old ones

how do you get the housing off on a 04 s class?? it's different than the 00-02! thanks for any help in advance...my led's are out and i need to replace...can't figure out if i can replace the strip or if the whole housing needs to be replaced? john
