Cool 2000-2002 S500 Side Mirror Led Light Upgrade Picts,Detail,Install

100 Dollars for the LED lights.(EBAY) Installed them in 20 minutes.

1. Push mirror forward as seen in pict.
2. Stick thin long flathead screw driver underneath mirror(torwards front) and pry clip up so Mirror Cover housing slides off.(be careful)
3.Take mirror inside house or work area and clean up before installing new strip
4. The led strip has 2 screws that need to come out than pull out old LED strip from mirror cover...New strip will pop in
5.Once new strip is screwed in cover take back to car to plug in and mount
6.The Led strip will plug in the 2 center inputs of the 4 prong female connector located on the back of housing on car.

Let me know if you need more help.

Thanks

Thanks

I have done my headlights, tailights and now these LED'S myself....

Go ahead and buy them and I will e-mail some picts and detail how to do it...one of the light strips would not quite pop in so I had to shave a hair of it with a razor knife....otherwise it is pretty easy... I will say that when they are lit the pictures do not do it justice....They are really cool.... The color is more of a orange than the old yellow.. They match the the color of the silverstar signal bullbs I run in my front lamps perfectly.

ps.I have a post in the W220 pict thread of my car...Thanks

Wow those lights are looking good.

How bright are they in the dark? From inside the car, can you tell they are on when they are blinking?

Dang, must light up the side grass when turning eh?

Just as a tip for folks, when you slide in the screwdriver, you might want to tape up the screwdriver with some painters tape so if you touch something, it won't scratch.

I did that when I was doing some modding on the LS400 and saved me from a ton of regrets.

Here is more info on sliding off mirror housing cover

You got to stick your eye in there and you will see a silver metal clip ..... you have to pry the bottom of it up so the mirror cover slides off.... It is easy... That clip is the only thing holding it tight...... also make sure you manually postion the mirror it self inwards when you try to slide it off.. If you don't ... It will keep it from moving period... be careful..

I am running the LED only in the night picts.. It also has a 55 watt halogen fog you can run with or each separately via dual switch..under dashboard... I am actually yanking them out and for 10 bucks + shipping I will send them to you.. I am putting these Piaa Turbos in which have 4 LED bulbs only and is a 2 Inch Diameter in size...You have to carve out the mesh inserts in your bumper to do it... I will also send the mesh cutouts with the lights for another 10 bucks because I have to do buy new ones for my smaller circlular LED's here is what I am changing to: PIAA

LOL! But I DO!

I say keep the hood badge, if it were an emblem that'd be different, but a badge is insanely subtle.
