Timming Belt/Chain

As my car is approaching the 70k mile mark I am wondering if I should have my timming belt/chain checked for replacing? I've read that you don't need to do this so I am just making sure before something goes wrong. I can't see how these belts would last forever.
Thanks!

No need. There is no timing belt and the chain should last the life of the car. Just keep it serviced and the regular belts changed on scheduled times

As long as you do not hear any strange noise at idle , you do not have to worry about the rotating parts .
