How does it all work with integrating with the exiting controls? I went to the Pac Audio website and it didn't show any products available that would make the steering controls work on a 2000 S500. Also how do you plan to integrate the head unit itself? Thanks in advance!

Steering Wheel Control Interface: http://www.pac-audio.com/Products.aspx?CategoryId=29

The head unit doenst need any integration, it will sit in the double din slot, receive power from the vehicle and send its output to the new amp. No connectivity to the old system whatsoever.

Maybe I need to measure it but are you saying it simply goes where the nav screen is now? Dosen't look wide enough to me...Thank you again, Nick

Saw this post as well...http://www.benzworld.org/forums/nav-...ouble-din.html

If the guy will return my email I think I'm going to find someone who can either airbrush it like the designo wood or get it covered in leather...hmmmm. I am more comfortable doing it that way vs. chopping up my existing piece.

I emailed the guy that posted about the black double din and never heard back...flaky vendor Anyways I also found this on eBayhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-02...ht_1984wt_1165

I am going to talk to a friend of my fathers who does custom upholstery work and see if he can cover it in leather either the Desgno color or black with some nice stitching... what do you think of that? Any other ideas as to what that surface would look good covered in?

I was thinking of just upgrading to a 2.0 out of a 2003 but that system just looks better and is still very outdated and not upgradeable...I am determined to have streaming Bluetooth audio in my car and a hard drive...oh and nav traffic
