Valet Curbed My Wheel
The valet parker backed my car up a curb and tore up my rim and tire. It was dark when I got to my car and I didn't realize that it happened until the next morning. I went back right away to the spot and there was a huge deep scrape on the curb where they did it. I filed a claim and it got shut down. I'm going to take them to small claims court. Anbody have any experience with this? The fact that I left with out reporting it is going to be tough but it was dark and on the passengers side.

I feel your pain brother, I valet parked my car 2 weeks ago with Rain Forest Cafe and someone stoled the whole car from valet. They said the guy came up and took the key's from the box and took the car. The car was found a week and a half later with about 6500 worth of damange to it. It's been nothing but alot of red tape and aggervation since it happened. Anyway's good luck to you.

that's sux!!! I feel sorry on what happened to you. This tells us that we shall checked entire body, tires and wheels of our car for any damage before we leave the premises. But then again they might claimed that it was already there before we let them parked it.

I went back first thing next morning and took these pics that clearly show where they hit and went up the curb. They were trying to back into a driveway and cut it too soon.
I hope this help in court.

I hope you saved the metal shavings from the curb... If you did go to your local target and buy the CSI miami kit, hopefully it will be a match and it will strengthen your case.. Good luck tho, I know someone who has a brand new 5 series 3rd day they owned it and they were in a rush and valeted it at the mall.. Next day found on the passenger side a nice big dent on the door.. Nothing you can do about it..
Just in general never valet your car I know a few people who work as valets and they beat the crap out of cars in the valet parking lot.

Was it
a big place?Sh*t flows down hill so write a nice letter to corporate and include times ,pictures and what happened.Firmly state the facts and your repair costs, then as a caveat include that if not rectified you will be filing action in small claims court, naming management as the party of complaint.
Include your phone numbers, address, and be sure to say thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Have a good friend that had the same thing happen at ruths christ steak house and they got back to him quick paid for the rim and threw in 2bills of dinners.
hope it works out, those look like some nice wheels.

I have a friend who is an insurance agent and she told me about a client who valet parked her car and the valet's did some damage to it. They tried to get out of paying for the damage sighting that the valet ticket they give you states that they are not liable for any theft or damage to the vehicle and acts as a binding contract between both parties.
The lady ended up filing suit against the company that ran the valet service and the judge ruled in her favor stating that the valet ticket with the disclaimer is not a binding contract between the two parties because there is no signature from the parties agreeing to the terms on the ticket, and thus the valet service is indeed responsible for any theft or damage done to the vehicle while in their care and possesion.
I hope this information helps you out!

its a tough case to win, the smaller the valet company the harder it will be to get them to pay, often times theres a sign some where with a disclaimer that the are not responsible for damage. It will help if you can get the Attendant to admit he did it. I'm not a big fan of Valet parking either, most never release the parking brake before driving the car or engage it when they park the car. It may be ****, but i always walk around my cars to inspect, even at the dealership, good luck with your claim.

I can't see the whole wheel & fender, but it appears to have been done while the car was being backed up. Go there at night & shoot a short video of them backing the cars up.

Good luck on your lawsuit. I hope you win. I haven't valet parked in years and never will. When my son was a teenager, our neighbor kid had a job valet parking at a local upscale restaurant. The kid didn't even have a driver's license. I guess the restaurant never checked on that.

dont expect anything to get done they tell you there not responsible or it was there before they drove it, and YOU never inspected the car before giving it to them. BUT i wish you best of luck and thats why i stopped valeting years ago.

I had the same issue with valet about six months ago. It was a few days after I bought my carbon fiber lip. I came out and it was cracked from something that they hit. I never got anything out of it.

Yes it is a pain in the *** but I would name the resteraunt and the Valet as acting as their agent and bill for wheel and two tires plus front & rear alignment, balancing of both wheels and possibly a damaged strut and air suspension sensors/system and the fee for the evaluation plus costs and atty fees what ever you can bill for rental while car is in shop.
See if you can name the owners of the Valet individually and company wise that will get there attention. The no liability claim is pure BS.
I am sure there is an atty that would take it especially with your pictures.
I sued the towing company here for scratching my Kawasaki Motorcycle and illegal towing and they paid before going to court.

Those valet guys are so careless. They don't care about any of the cars they park...they just want their dang tip! I used to valet while we stayed in Vegas, but no more! Good luck!!!

Ouch, I never had a valet service but if I ever come across a place that have it, I'll say no thanks, I'm parking myself, i can walk to the building from the parking lot.

I don't valet my 08 E550. Infact, I park it myself and usually away from other cars but not alone in the middle of nowhere.
If I'm going to a packed lot especially at a few bars/lounges around here or upto LA in certain neighborhoods, I take my 1995 4Runner. Makes me look like I probably work the drive-thru at McD's, but I don't really care.
I dread handing the keys over at the dealership let alone to a high school kid working as a valet.

It usually states on the valet ticket itself that "we shall not be liable for any damages incurred while car is in possession. Although you did give valid consideration for their services and therefore the contract is binding, most courts do not honor exculpatory clauses in this case because of negligence on the part of the valet company. So chances are you will be able to get damages.

I had to chase my wifes credit card co. a few years back for $435 in fraudulent charges. It took 8 months to resolve and was a total pain.
It looks like thats a rear wheel he curbed.
What does a new wheel cost? Tire?
If it were me I would just identify the valet and watch which car he gets into after his shift. Then take your frustration out on his car and write in soap on his windsheild " learn how to park a car a**hole".
You won't get your money back and an attorney and or your time will cost more than a new tire and wheel.
Trust me the vigilante revenge scenario works wonders and will make you feel great that you got him back.
