Finally! Wheels are on
It has taken forever. RENNtech was not my first choice.
But my first choice didn't work out. So, after researching rims I decided on these because they are VERY light weight and strong.
Each tire and rim is 10lbs lighter than the "light weight twin spoke AMG's" they replaced.
Unspring weight has been reduced 40lbs. Yes, I can feel the difference, the car feels much "lighter" and more responsive.
Done with the Mods
2007 SL55 w/030 PP package. Every Option
RENNtech - ECU - Pulley - Headers - CF Air Box - Spoiler - Lowering Module - Rims
30% Huper Optic Tint - Black front markers
Which wheels do you like better?? Stock or RENNtech??

How much did you lower the car? What size rims and tires are you running? I am running stock wheels but would like to get a lighter wheel and was hoping to find something that looks like stock but weighs less. I lve the rear wing too! I may need to add that to my car. Do you know if the Renntech front lip would fit on your bumper?

i would say to keep the Renntech wheels, but since you have 030 you have the two piece AMG rims right? Those 030 package rims are my favorite SL OEM rim (meaning the reg. SL and the SL 65 rim)... but I would take the Renntech ones over the 030 package ones. In a perfect world (and one where I could afford a 150k car) I would get the Brabus rims. I would keep the black on black look it will differentiate your enthusiast SL from others. Do you have the vents in front of your front tires because of the 030 package?

RENNtech lowering module puts the car approx. 1 1/2" lower than the setting you're in. SL has 3 ride heights.
I stayed with the stock size of 19" RENNtech rims are the lightest. AVUS makes one just like the stock rim I took off, also very light.
Tires are 265-35-19 fr 295-30-19 rear. Michelin PS2's.
Not sure, I don't think it does.

Great looking car.
I prefer the 19" stock rims, but that's because they are my favorite rims period. Your new black ones look cool however and 10lbs a corner is not to be sniffed at. 19" fits the SL perfectly too.
How does it handle with the 030? do you have an AMG you've driven without the pkg for comparison?
What bhp/tq is it putting down with the Renntech mods vs stock?

Your car is amazing, i was just looking at the pics again and may take one for the background on my powerbook! The black/berry combo with the black RT rims is very nice, plus the vent from the 030 PP makes the car look aggressive.
P.S. maybe a light 30% tint then it can truely be a knight rider

idrivatitleist -- looks sweet! Your car looks sweet.
I noticed that you live in Vegas. A couple of us (E55's, CL65 and C32) are going to the track (LVMS) this Wednesday to run our cars... hopefully you can make it. Have you ran your car yet? If so, what times are you posting?
PM me if you want more details...

Info
The Renntech rims are light and very durable. Also the renntech wheels are made by the same manufacturer that makes champion wheels for porsche.
Jeff, nice choice by painting black! Looks good!
