FSS reset
I've done it before but I remember I could not get it in 1st, 2nd, 3rd or maybe more than 4 attemps before it resets. It is really try & try until you suceed or is there a technique? Now I could not get it to reset anymore What am I doing wrong. I follow same steps below over and over again with no luck.
This is cut & paste.
My car is a 98 W210. Yes you can reset it any time you like, before or after it reaches the service interval. P = position (1, 2 or 3)
1. Turn ignition to P2 and then press the Reset button twice within four seconds to get the current FSS display miles listed
2. Turn the ignition key to P1 and then press AND HOLD the reset button while doing 3
3. Turn the ignition to P2 while keeping the reset button pressed in for 10 seconds

FSS = flexible service system. I just reset my "A service" last night - turn key ignition to P2 - change your dash display so it reads "A or B service" with X amt of miles for next scheduled service - you'll need to be on that display, press twice - turn key position back to P1 (wait a few sec) - hold reset button while turning key ignition to P2 for 10 sec - it will then ask if you wish to reset - hit reset button again and you're good to go.

Thanks V
but my car is 1998 w210. I think when it says press & hold reset it means to us 1998 to press & hold zero.
For some reason I could not get it to reset now but I've done it before to my own car and my cuz car which is also 1998 w210. It's frustrating
I'll keep trying.

turn key to on ,not run just on, so all the dash lights are on,press the o botton twice quickly, like twice in one sec .service reset will come on with the little wrench symbol, immediately turn key to the off position, press the zero button and hold it in while turning the key to the on position again, hold the button till it beeps, release button and turn key to off position.
while your in the car anyway do the ecu reset and set the learned driver values back to the factory settings, like an instant tune up in two minutes time...........
