Remus Mufffler 4 Sale
Hello Everyone,
I recently purchased a Remus Muffler for my 2000 ML 320, but I have decided not to use it. I am currently using a Magnaflow muffler which I am happy with, but the muffler shop had to do some "modifications" to the stock pipes to fit the Magnaflow and the Remus will no longer be a "direct fit" for my vehicle. So I don't really want to go through the expense and have the muffler shop do more "hacking" of my pipes to get the Remus to fit.
The part info:
509102 0500 Mercedes, M-Class W163, ML 320, ML 430, '97, 3.2l, 4.3l - Remus Sport Label
I do have the option of returning it to the dealer I purchased it from, but I don't really want to go through the hassle of the "restocking fee" and such.
I'm not looking to make a profit, I just want what I paid for it and I have a PayPal account to make things easy.
According to the Remus website, you can only use the Remus connecting pipe and tips. Any competent muffler shop should be able to install this muffler using your existing end pipe/tips.
Anybody that's interested, please send me a PM or e-mail at dfsixsixsix@yahoo.com.

One more piece of info.
One more thing, according to Remus Exhaust Shop they no longer have this muffler in stock and will not have any for another 3 months.

The muffler is still in the box, I guess I can take it out for pics.
However, you can see pics of it here:
http://www.remusexhaustshop.com/merc...602-p-763.html
The muffler I received is all black, it doesn't have the silver patch as shown on the Remus website.
I'm selling for $535 + shipping (about $35-$40) if you're local you can come and pick it up, The $917 price shown on the Remus website includes the connecting end pipe and tips, I only have the muffler for sale.

Thanks for the info Matt, I may just keep the muffler and replace my cats (at my expense unfortunately), I'm waiting to hear from Bekkers Import to see if their hi-flow catalysts are legal here in California.
We'll see if I get any interest in this muffler...

does anyone know if the high flow cats are much better than stock or are they only to replace broken ones? I've heard many times that the stock ones are properly made for the car to have no compromise, and some even make you lose low end power.

hmm if your were closer I would consider it... Matt this could be integrated into a custom exhuast correct? I have an ML55 exhuast that has been stripped of both the resonator and the muffler and replaced with one muffler in place of the resonator...
Does it have the annoying resonance at speed?

Yes it could be integrated, however it would require tedeous custom work consdering two identical pipes would have to be manufactured to lead to the tips or you would have to use a Y pipe.
Our exhausts are known to offer a resonance free sound, unless you start taking out the cats, deleting all the resonators and running race headers

There was nothing wrong with the OEM muffler, except for the fact that it was choking the motor!
I did feel a difference in performance in both the mid and high end, and I did gain some MPG on the freeway. I don't have any dyno results though, but who cares, it sounds good!
