EuroCharged 2012 C63 BS Coupè
Hey Vadim, I have the 530 kit from Vic already and now waiting for my C63 to arrive in September/October. What kind of gains do you think we could see with the the 530 kit + software tweak??
This is going to be a fun year!!!! Can't wait.
Thanks

Vadim,
Hurry up with the tuning already!
I want to do a package with you but I'm waiting to see results on the C63 tuning first! This car is definitely held back in power over the E63. There should be a great amount of power to be had in the tune alone.
Anyway to measure ignition timing with any aftermarket scan tools?

C63 Dyno run at VRP?
Hey Vadim.
does this mean you finally had a chance to get a baseline on a C63??

Looks like Han's C63....no???
Looking forward to the stock results and of course the results as mods are added....

Here is what headers will look like.
We had a chance to dyno stock C63, thanks to Hans!
Here is a stock car.
374RWHP, if we use 17% drivetrain loss - 374/0.83 = 451HP.
Right on the money.
The graph shows acceleration from 60 mph to 130 mph in 3rd and 4th gears. This represents most likely street scenario for vast majority of drivers. It eliminates traction issues and is better at showing average power gain vs. narrow peak gains.
Here is a stock C63 vs. stock E63.
Here is C63 vs. E92 M3.
M3 was run in 4th gear from 2K to 8.5K rpms.
Look at A/F graph, M3 is tuned to run a little leaner.
BTW, I played with an M3 and there is no power in exhaust and about 3-5HP in intake. That motor is pretty much at its limit with bolt-ons.

Yes, no, maybe so... the answer obviously is "it depends" and "YMMV" - if you have a "mod-friendly" SA, it might not amount to anything. If you don't, you might have some headaches. Bottomline, MB cannot legally deny a warranty claim during the warranty period unless they can demonstrate that specific modifications directly caused the warranty claim issue. What happens in practice can be a totally different story - and would happen with any tuner products on your car, regardless of brand. If this is a concern, wait 4 years/50k miles before performing any extensive performance modding...

Thanks Hans for stepping up and letting VRP get on with tuning the C63! Didn't hear any mention of it as I'm sure you guys are keeping things hush hush at this point, but I'm assuming from this dyno run you were able to make some guesses as to how the C63 is being detuned of its 50wrhp as compared to the E63?

Vadim,
I mean this is the nicest way possible. You are a tease! I keep hearing about how you are going to dyno soon, post details soon, etc.
It's killing me!!!
I need to know how MB detuned the E63 engine to C63 levels. I need to know what VR570 will include and what performance numbers it will produce. I need to know how much it will cost. I need to know when it will be available so that I can schedule (I had emailed you that I will be in SoCal with my car sometime between 9/5 and 9/10.)
Arrgghhhh...

I am just messing with you.
I have some answers, but not all. I hate to say it again, but I will not release a product untill I will be proud to use it on my own car.
As soon as everything is done, I will make a detailed post that answers all of the questions.
I do appreciate your patience.

Vadim,
I know you are joking, as was I.
So, just so we can set an expectation, what do you think is the REALISTIC timeframe for having the answers to my questions above available?

The header prototypes are done, we are going into testing later this month.
I have another C63 coming in to do a complete package, optimistically we should have the results within next 30 days.
