Why don't you believe that? The Bimmer will be better from a roll. The Mercedes will be faster from a standstill.

Isn't the M3 equipped with the Hartge exhaust as well? I believe that is good for about 20hp. It would have been nice to see a stock vs. stock run, but the M3 is modded.

I believe I read the BMW's DCT shift times to be anywhere from 30ms to 200ms. MB MCT (SL63) is around 100ms. But nothing yet beats the VW/Audi DSG/S-Tronic which is 8ms shift time.

It is hard to tell if they both got on it at the same time, with that white text in the way. Looks like the MB got on it from the look at the front wheels in the suspension about 1/2 car behind the M3. I'd like to see a proper side/side roll race with the 3 honks then GO.

I'll take the M3 on this one.

TQ is good for launches but you need the HP to do the high speed pulls.

The C63 I think missed a gear due to an unexpected kickdown, when he floored it.

Also, this is just my opinion...
The M3 Coupe vs Convert E93 shows how much weight slowed the Conv down, maybe 5-6 cars. But when you saw the C63 vs E93 Conv video, you notice that the C63 KILLS IT by way more like 10-15 cars?

So cliffnotes: E92 kills E93 by 5-6 cars, C63 kills E93 by 10-15 cars, therefore IMHO opinion I really think kickdown in the C63 and missing a gear played a role here. And there is no way for the C63 to lose..?

I agree the video was most Biased and bogus, I've driven both cars (0 90) and mid to high end the M3 chokes Compared to the C63 low to mid to high end bruit power...

Something is wrong with this video. Someone on this forum did a comparison between the videos (Conv VS Coupe) and (C63 vs Conv). One can see that it is not possible for the coupe to pull on the C63.

Exactly what I am saying, the C63 should pull by multiple cars. At lease 3-4 right away due to torque.

This video makes me depressed. I want to see some more runs. In this video it seems that the M3 had a head start right from the beginning. I just don't see how the M3 could be that much faster from a run.

I understand it, I do want more runs to prove that a C63 can pull on one.

This video should cause a stir and should be done again properly.

No consistency on that board. I did compare some videos and they don't make sense. What I am stating is only my opinion, I think some of the races are setup or some of the drivers should not be behind the wheels.

Edit: I am just saying this because I had the chance to drive both now. No way any M3 DCT can pull on a C63 Please mention any mods in your videos before you lose any credibility.

the owner of the c63 in on this board.. Alex____ something like that

he told us 2 weeks ago he got beat by a tuned M3.. we knew the video was coming.

The question if the exhaust by Hartage is only a hardware change or did it need tuning.

If it has tuning and exhaust then I can see picking up the 20hp claimed.

The driver of the C63 never mentioned he missed the shifts... "search the thread of the M3 Convertible vs C63" he talks about it there.

I'm just thinking the m3 was ECU and exhaust modified..

Also the M-DCT loves to upshift, by has a harder time downshifting as mentioned by the owners.

From a roll, is comes down to gearing and weight.. who ever has the right power band will pull first.

Hi guys!

Me and my friend took turns driving my dads C63 at this little event.
As youīve seen earlier we won against the M3 Conv, and as I said lost against this Coupe.

I donīt know what was done to that Coupe, more than the Hartge exhaust, but It was definately something īcause it was fu**ing fast!

I hardely hadīnt driven the Merc before this event īcause I lost my driverslicense, so I didnīt really "feel it" regarding optimal starts and shifts etc.

At 50-250 km/h i tried starting at M1 but it shifted too fast to second gear so I lost to much time in the start, which explains the big difference in the beginning of the race.

Regarding M5board, I think they do a pretty good job, Gustav invites a couple of guys that races to each other, wantīs to have a good time and thats it.

Itīs always some smarta** that say their car is standard but everybody knows itīs not, but thats the way it is.

And the drivers are all hobbyracers, so itīs pretty hard judging starts when theyīre not pros.
