Question instrument cluster

How do you get the instrument cluster out of the dash on a C220?? I don't see any screws, clips, ext??

Thanks for any tips.

That or you can use alam wrenches but alam wrenches still can mess up your dash. so take it easy.

yes, "alam" wrench will work, but as soldsep said, you might damage/scratch your cluster. Use the skinniest one you have

It is much easier to push it out from behind. You need to open up the panel underneath the steering wheel then reach in behind the cluster and try pushing it out. Only way for you not to mess up your dash.

Henry47, have we met before? Do you drive a c280 silver 744?

yea you can push it i think easiest way is to buy the cluster hooks. super easy.

definately need to use the special clamps, and take out steering wheel and airbag.....just had mine changed....(the fuel and temp gages were sleepy).....takes an experienced diy 10-15 min to do....mind you the donor cluster cost me $100, but after driving for a while, I noticed that the rpm gage is out of whack.....need to transplant that back from the old gage.....plus I got 3k miles free!? :-(

You can just slide out the cluster to your right. You just need to angle it as you pull to your right. And to install it back just do the reverse.
