Some pics of my 2003 Model SL55 which is Silver Arrow with Brry Red interior. It has most options as well as Pace Car steering wheel. As you can see by the snow on the ground not ideal conditions for driving an SL55!!

Bilal,

The paint is more metallic than brilliant silver and also has less ‘yellow’ content. If you stand two cars together the brilliant silver car looks duller and the slight yellow content shows. I believe they put an extra quantity of metallic in the paint but not quite sure.

The last few old shape SL500’s in the UK were sold as special editions called SL500 Silver Arrow.

Thanks for clearing that up John.

Did you get it as a special factory order?

Original owner ordered it as he also had a previous model SL in Silver Arrow. Apparently it did not show as available initially but as he knew the colour code he got the dealer to enter it in the system and it went through.

To get a factory fitted performance pack you have to tell the dealer you want one ! They say you can't have one, and you say you want one nevertheless. The dealer contacs AMG who say of course your customer can have that option, and you get it.

The dealers are hopeless when it comes to AMG options.

Ooops sorry Boogers. I have given out some dodgy information.

With Obsidian Black,MB do recomend all colours of leather, both Standard and Exclusive.

In the UK the colour I have is called Alpaca grey. It is with the Jasper blue that MB do not recommend Alpaca grey, but a friend of mine has this combination and it looks good.

Sorry, I may need to edit my earlier post.

The seats do have the ventilation facility as standard, the massage /adjustable comfort facility is extra.

Bose sound is also standard on the 55.

The extras I had were Parktronic,Garage door opener,Telephone wiring,Linguatronic, Comfort seats,glass roof,Tyre monitor,TV, Keyless go,performance pack, and I managed a discount !

The slightly odd thing about keyless go is that you now get a key, with the Keyless go electronics inbuilt, and the keyless go card is dispensed with.

i too got the electronics built into the key, a new thing for 03 models i think (dont quote me)

I just noticed that the seats look alot like my CL seats (without the holes for ventilation, so that must be the comfort seats...

as where my 55 has little holes in the seats for the vents...

got a dilemma on the other thread in this section wheather my car has BOSE or not...

bummer

I still have both the card key and the ordinary key so must have been introduced after October 2002 so perhaps midway through the 03 model year.
