SLK 230, winter tires? which ones?

I was searching the web for the best winter tires on sports cars with rwd.

I wanna be prepared and ready before I make my purchase for the slk 230 2001.

I had a 2003,v6 ford mustang, never used winter tires and couple sand bags.
I live in north Ohio, right by the border to Michigan, so the snow is kinda bad here around january and february.

with my mustang i had very very terrible experience, even though going slow in spin and ended on the otherside of the road, luckily no cars were coming...got stuck in the express way,and going up little hills...

But I only had summer tires on...

now with the slk 230....what winter tires and what size do you guys use...

and do you use sand bags in the slk as well?

and on the same token, which winter tires are terrible that you wouldn't reccomend and have tested or heard negative feedback about it.

I heard the Bridgestone S-03 Pole Positions winter tires are terrible and useless in snow for the slk

Hi,

I recently purchased Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S mud and snow tires from Discount Tire for $559 grand total after $60 rebate in NC. I spent $4 on chrome sleeves and caps. They provide a quiet comfortable ride with good wet and dry traction. They have not been in snow yet. I read reviews on the Tire Rack and IIRC Discount Tire’s websites. Others gave them good reviews for snow traction. Customer reviews and ratings should be helpful. I would do some website research.

HTH,
Thom
