The repair looks great!
How did you do it? How much do you charge for a refinish/repaint job? Thanks, |

Nice Job!
I have the Red on Black interior and the red is doing the same thing. I am in the process of looking for a good upolster to repair it and insure that it does not happen again. However judging by the wonderful repair on yours, what or whom is your secret to the repair. Patti |

Thank you. It is about a 5 step process. I can post later. I would be able to give you a cost to do this after I saw the car and how bad it is peeling. I did not post pics, but my mothers was also peeling badly on the glove compartment. There were also some areas that needed minor work, which I did not post pics.
Thanks. |

I repainted it. It would be possible to remove it all, which I thought about, but in the end repainting looked the best.

The secret is sanding, clean thoroughly and most important matching the paint color to interior of car.

actually thats not really good advice. Its best to strip the old finish. Sanding will remove the paint and texture of the console. stripping will easily remove the paint without destroying the console.

Is it easier to pull the console to strip and repaint or leave it in place and remove the seats to do it?

I guess it depends on how bad it is. I did not take out seats or console.

Hey... I notice that you have a small storage nook just forward of your shifter, next to the coin/ashtry module. I have an old analog phone in that space and would like to replace it with a storage compartment like yours. Did you remove the integrated phone or did your SLK come that way?
