Question Trickle charger

My battery dies when I am away for 2 weeks and it is very annoying. (I think it is mostly from the unit that allows remote lowering of the roof.)

In any case, does anyone have experience with appropriate trickle chargers so I can leave it plugged in in my garage when I am gone. I assume there is some hideously expensive MB product.

Don't use a trickle charger! bad bad bad. Do use an automatic charger with an output of no more than 2 amps. Get a solid state automatic battery charger that you can mount on board, and wire to the cars electrical system.
Do use the correct sized fuse and don't forget to use a surge suppressor on the 110 volt side.

Sears no longer has this charger but I beleive Schumacher makes it you can do a search on the web. Mine has worked flawlessly.

Yep the first generation roof module drains battery in two weeks time. I have one that auto detects how much voltage it needs, it's goes from 4amp to 2amp once it's fully charged. Got it from my brother, he said it was under $40.

If there is a $40 fix for my roof module I'd sure like to know how to get it--given the original was like 10x that much.

In the meantime I have ordered a Schumacher battery maintainer for $40 so that I can plug the car in while it is parked for a long time.

Thanks for the recommendations.
