Kind of dumb question
I just got a SLK280 and the dealer could'nt answer my question, when I have the top down I cannot open the trunk it binds on the plastic shelf. Are you supposed to be able to open the trunk with the top down, or not?

Yes, you should be able to open the trunk with the top down. Congrats on the new 280... we just got one ourselves. Since we rarely put the top up its a must to have trunk access with the top down.

Took it in to the dealer it was just misaligned, they realigned the plastic parts and it is fine. Before it would bind and start to lift up when opening the trunk not letting it open. Thanks for the suggestions guys

What, your dealer couldn't answer your question? Is he kinda stupid? Shouldn't be selling cars in my opinion.

Since this issue with them I am now going to a five star dealer across town. I relayed my experience to them about dealer "X" and they didn't say a word, but gave me the "Yeah, there're idiots over there" look.
