Child seat?

I'm planning to buy a SLK, but is it legal to put a child seat in the front, my child is 8years old.

I don't know where you live but in the US it is legal... or at least I believe it is since MB sells both a toddler and infant seat. You need to buy one from them as it carries a sensor that turns off the airbag.

Prices can be steep but you might get lucky and find one on ebay.

Do a search for "MB Babysmart"

Dear Pwong888
I have an SLK and an 8 yr old. I purchased the Benz car seat that has
the sensor and I'm glad I did. It's a bit pricey but it is a very well
made car seat and has good protection around my daughter's head.
In order for your child to ride in front you have to be able to turn
off the airbag & I know the sensor goes by weight or by the car seat. My daughter being that she is a light weight could ride in my car without the car seat but I always have her in the seat for her protection.
Well worth the money! Mo and Min

Thanks for you reply. Do you know how much is the car seat?

I believe the car seat was $350.00. It is definitely the best car seat I have had and very well made. You could probably ask your Benz dealer to see one.
I would also ask if there is a weight restriction for the car seat. I don't remember if there is (plus I couldn't find the info in my manual) and my daughter is a light weight..

I do not use any child seat for my 8years old. However he likes to get seat booster to get better view. My car is Z4 however it looks similar to SLK.

BTW Airbag gets automatically disabled regardless booster is used or not.

mercedes car seat

Is very nice ... while the airbag is SUPPOSED to go off from different sensors ... the additional sensor in the car seat is added protection.
