Why do you lose the triangle nose, when you get sport or AMG?
If and when I pick up a SLK, I will probably get either 350 with sport package (amongst other things), or an SLK 55 AMG.
However, one thing I don't like about those two options it that with Sport or AMG, you lose the brand new triangle type nose support. I think that really looks cool and sets the redesign apart from the older models. Any idea why they did this? I wonder the costs of buying a 350 sport or SLK 55 AMG and then buying a standard 2009 nose? I know you guys think I'm nuts, but I really like the triangle support. ha.

Can you post pics side by side to evaluate a difference?

That's because you are getting the AMG front, side and rear panels. There is no point getting the sport/AMG option then changing back to the stock front but a ton of guys would buy the AMG front off of you for sure

I'm sure you could do the swap, but do keep in mind it's more than just the bumper covers that need replacing - fog lamps, supports, etc - it's not a cheap to go "to" or "from" AMG styling... Go for a 350 without sport package, would probably be cheaper to "add" the non-external bits. On the '55, I think you would run into clearance and heat issues trying to replace the AMG bumper with a non-amg. |
