I am 99% sure it is Brilliant Silver, however i may be wrong. It looks like Diamond Silver with the blue hue because I was parked next to my Blue GMC Sierra

The two silver colors that the SLK is available in the U.S. are Iridium Silver and Diamond Silver. The Diamond Silver has a slight blue tint.

True, I do LOVE my new car!
The website is a fringe benifit of running the website for my company so I used a little space and a subdomain. |

Wow that makes a big difference, I will have to check my camera settings too. I think also part of it was that I did not have very good lighting the day I took them. Thanks for the help.

Didu, I'm lovin' the red interior. I got the White/Ash combination, but Silver/Berry or Red was one of my top choices as well.

except that mine doesn't have the airscarf, the heated seats and the folding mirror. I'm actually really surprised by how difficult this car is to drive (maybe because I've always been driving a toyota), the brakes and accelerator are not as responsive as my toyota, so when you press them lightly, they don't seem to do anything, but if you apply a bit more pressure, the car just jumps off. I drove the car around my streets for about 20 minutes to get a feel of the brakes and the accelerator, and I am still not very used to it. The engine sound is also very loud, much louder than my toyota sedan at similar speeds, if I didn't know the SLK 350 was made to have that kind of sound, I'd think there was something wrong with the transmission. The brakes also squeak a lot at very low speeds. The dealer says it's because the car is still very new. Did you guys also have the similar problem? Last edited by didu; 02-22-2005 at 05:47 AM. |

Didu, I like the European wheels with the tapered spokes much more than the 5 spoke AMG wheels that are offered in the U.S. PLease add your location to your profile.

pirelli tires look so much better than the default 17'' tires. I saw them on the product brochure and decided to have them. didu |

Well done didu. Mine looks exactly the same as yours, but I have the default 17 inch alloys. Now that you've posted yours, I might as well post my pics.

Yeah, I've cut the lawn since then. That was during those record rain days in Melbourne.
You use the Camry as a 2nd car? I use the Astra as a 2nd car. I find that you have to just feather the accelerator in the SLK to get it to take off smoothly. If you step on it like in the Astra or Camry I suspect, it will just jerk forward. Takes a bit of getting used to. Catch you around didu! |

Actually, I find the differences between the SLK and my Camery a bit
difficult to adjust. I find the brakes and the accelerator of the Camery a lot more linear in terms how much force you have to apply to the brakes/accelerator to get the car to start to stop/go faster. In the Camery, as soon as you apply a bit force to the brakes, the car starts to slow down significantly, but in the SLK, you have to apply a lot more force to the brakes to get the same amout of initial slowing-down as the Camery, the differences between the accelerators are similar. When I first got the SLK, the car kept jerking off from stops because I wasn't very used to the accelerator. I'm not sure about the layout of the instrument cluster of Holden cars, in Camery, the directional indicators are on the right hand side, but in the SLK, all the controls are on the left hand side, the first time I drove the SLK, I kept turning on the rain swiper when I wanted to use the directional indicator. didu |
