Sedell is the same guy as in the video even it shows "Sedell Kompressor Merca".

This is Sedell on dragtimes holding the quickest SLK32 there at 11.97, looks like he has to post up his 11.68 now. His mods are quite extensive.

It does show he got Shrick cams and a full exhaust system. What also helps is his light wheels with R compound tires.

if you look at all the modding going on in the drt-6 forum, you will see manifold mods intakes tunes exhaust injectors tranny mods and more . all, this and they still have a hard time getting sub 12 times. all in a car 200 to 300 lbs lighter than a slk32
it still shows these cars will haul a&^!!!

that is usually because of a poor combination of parts in my opinion...but you are right, hard tiem getting under 12. That is why I was wondering what the heck was going on with this guy...

there may a number of parts he didnt list. i only went by what he listed on dragtimes
as for poor choices on the srt-6 i dont think the needswings guys or eurocharged fellas have made bad choices. they are still searching for 11.68 times

There's a SRT-6 in Florida running 11.5x's off spray and it was in the 10.7x's on the spray. Unfortunately he hasn't updated his dragtimes slips lately and only has the 10.90 and slower times posted.

That's not correct. SLK32 is about 40 KG lighter than SRT6-Coupe and about 80 KG lighter than SRT6-Roadster.

what im trying to say is jerry and jeff and rob have access to all the toys and still jeff is the only srt-6 to get below 11.68 its not as easy as it sounds. they have access to the latest greatest mods and still come up slightly short. close mind you but short. for a slk32 to hit 11.68 is truley an impressicve feat
as for weight i stand corrected. good to know i need all the edge i can get!!

slk32 gvw 3660 lbs

SRT6-Coupe = 3400 lb = 1542.21 KG

SLK32 = 3.295 lb = 1495 KG (this is in my car documents)
European figures are with 90% full tank an one 75KG Driver in it.

i got the srt-6 numbers from the srt-6 website
the slk32 numbers from my plate on the door sill
the 300 lb diff in the slk must be because you have the steering wheel on the wrong side!!! :}:}

If you compare, you have to compare correctly .

On the door sill you can see the Gross Vehicle Weight. This is the maximum weight you are allowed to drive with luggage, front-passenger etc. Of course this weight is higher than the curb weight. Why aren't you happy that the SLK32 is lighter than the SRT-6?

And by the way, German Cars normally have the steering on the left side

the worst part for the eurocharged guys, they have no shop SRT6. I was the closest thing to that and am now in Chicago. The next closest would be the turbo SRT6...which doesn't really count...

So it's hard to constantly tinker to get into the low 11s when you don't have a car constantly in the shop to tinker on...

i am comparing apples. all my numbers are gross weight numbers. im happy to have a lighter car . i was under the impression my 32 was a tad bit heavier than the srt6.
zahanma if you move the shop to the nashville area you will be within 600 miles of 2/3 of the population of the us!! then everyone can play

You cannot always believe magazine articles.............especially when it comes to their track times. I weighed my SRT-6 coupe(with aftermarket sub and amp in hatch and half tank of gas) and me in it and it came in at 3400lbs according to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway's scales. I weigh in at a hefty 150lbs and the sub/amp is another 30lbs which means the car itsself is only 3220lbs. There is NO way a SLK32 with its hardtop convertible and extra bracing underneath would come in lighter than a SRT-6 coupe(now a convertible may be a different story).

PS A SLK32 that runs 11.68 is definately a kick azz feat indeed. I wish my Crossfire could run such a quick time.

Please see my post above. SLK32 = 1.495 KG = 3.295 lbs with 90% Full Tank AND 75 KG Driver. This is the official European weight and it is in my car documents.

I would suggest to put a SLK32 on the scale for the non-believers...

Sorry, Göran for being Off-Topic. 11.68 Sec. is a great time Keep on the good work and I am waiting to see your and Lars new results in the future!

Good luck. I mean it. To get a ET you want, you must use Drag Radials.
Any mods on your car ?
I think Lars can do a 10,1 - 10,5, when the SuperCharger Clutch is not
killing the car.
This 11.68 race is with a Supercharger Slipping from 5000 rpm. He lost about 100 hp and 200 Nm at 5000 rpm..( data logged )
There is no more 1/4 mile runs in Sweden this year. Sorry to say.
Exctra mod after that run and the car is running lean. We have to fix that.
Now i know how the car is running. 7 clock in the morning, 26/9-09, there was a StreetRace race, 402 m/ 1/4 mile and Lars won the whole race.
The car is running Lean. 14 afr, but he did not have to race all 402 m.
He killed the the other car so fast, he did not have to race all 402 m.
Thats funny. This SLK32 is F.. fast.
Its about 600 RWH
Soon you know, the hp

Regards Göran
