Here's a couple of pics when I picked my car up last week from the dealer in their delivery area. Sorry for the poor quality as the lighting wasn't the greatest and I'm not so good with my camera.

On the last pic, that's what was parked next to my SLK in the delivery area. It was a SL55 that was being delivered later that morning. I was bummed that I didn't get a picture with both cars in the same shot. The sales guys in the store said it was pretty cool to be delivering these two AMG's on the same day in the same color. They also said that now seeing them side-by-side, they'd take my SLK over the SL55 based strictly on looks (they said the SL55 was getting a little dated looking and the SLK looked so much more aggressive). Not sure if they were just being nice or not, but I told them thanks. I did say that if I could take the SL for the price I just paid for my SLK, I do it

Very nice, I think the black/red interior works the best with the black exterior.

Is it an '05 or an '06?

The SL55 is nice, but what's up with those fugly rims?!

My SLK is an '05.

Yeah, I agree on the awful looking rims on that SL. Not sure the thought process on that one

Those are the standard SLK55 AMG seats. You can find lots of pictures on the web (including this forum and MB sites).

The Pewter is the same as Cubanite and my photos don't do it justice, I'm afraid. It is actually a bit more of a darker gray than shown and has a tint of brown in it also. My wife is quite a color expert, being an artist, and without prompting from me, her first response to the color was "pewter", so I guess M-B hit it on the head when they named it.

I had mine installed by Tim at Plastic Surgeons AKA Chipshield in the Chicago suburbs. He and his son did an excellent job while I watched, chatted and intermitently napped in their shop. It is almost invisible from 10 feet away. I got it applied when the car had less than 150 miles on it. I am very happy with the product and installation so far.

Here is a photo of my 55 at speed on the Spring Mountain Raceway in Pahrump, Nevada. Wheels are 18 inch, 22-spoke AMG wheels from a SL with S-03 Pole Position Bridgestones -- 225x40 front and 255x35 rear. Otherwise the car is stock.

(PS -- The flames are magnetic and a gift from a racing buddy. They go on any car that I drive on a racetrack.)
