I ordered my 2008 Smart last week!

You may now pre-order your 2006 SMART on-line from www.smartusa.com!

I ordered a cabrio. A rep from SMART USA will call me after the Summer of '07 to finalize the order.

Hey WillyB,

Where are you located? I put down my $99 downpayment as well last week. I also went with a Cabrio. Probably going with Black w/ Silver. I figure it would make a nice bookend with my SLK

In Northern Virginia. I am planning to use it as a tender for the ML.

Hey guys, are you aware if the Smart ForFour is coming to the US market? I very much dislike the look of the ForTwo
Congrats on ordering it though! I hear they are fun to drive, and 40+mpg is nothing to shake a fist at.

Latest I heard is that the ForFour WILL NOT be coming (at least not during the first year or so). My local Mercedes dealer is supposed to get back to me within two weeks to let me know if they got the Smart franchise locally and I'll ask them about the ForFour.

Awesome I really like the ForFour. Ideally, the Smart Coupe Brabus would be the car to have here, its a very attractive little car, but the ForFour is very functional, fast, and very pretty.

Congrats! There's a lot about the Smart car that's really neat.

Of course, you need to install a Hayabusa engine in it and go trolling for Ferraris: http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...41112610385808

What kind of pricing are you getting if you don't mind me asking. A dealer in Denver has one with a list of $25K. No way I would let my wife spend that kinda cash on one, she might as well get a used C class. The smart website lists them in the mid to high teens, what gives?

If the dealer has it already, then it's an import that needed to be federalized and they cost more. Wait until they ship over the US products.

Pre-order +1

Yea,
I called another dealer and he stated the same thing. He said they are gray marketed. This dealer brought them in and they probably have no warranty. I'll wait for a bit..

Yeah, those are the converted models. Specific models for the US wont' be arrriving until Spring of 2008 and priced at $13K to $17K (base to Cabriolet).

The ForFour is definitely not coming, and last I heard, it's on its way to being discontinued even in Europe (apparently its the least-selling model) as Smart gets on its way to slimming its product line down to just the ForTwo and ForTwo cabrio.
