Having driven them in Italy, I wouldn't even think of driving one in the US. I'd be scared to death of getting in an accident. And the one I drove was the "larger" one.

We are picking ours up tomorrow at Smart Center Manhattan (MBZ Manhattan). We lucked out and got one that was canceled. Called on Thursday inquiring, got a call Saturday that one was available.
Should be cool. I'll post pics. |

The Euro MB site doesn't have information about them getting in an accident with a Ford Excursion or Chevy Suburban. In Europe they're only a "little" smaller than other cars. Here, they fit in a glove box.

I was at my dealer today for service and noticed that they now have a franchise on the Smart. They had about 8 in stock, all types, and several with Sold signs. Cute little things. No diesel for US yet though. Stickers were from 12K to 18K. Think I might have to test drive next time.

Picked up ours 10 days ago. Great little car, drives well, no problems on the highway.
When my son told his buddies that his mom was now driving a rear engined convertible with paddle shifters, they all thought I bought her a Ferrari 430! ![]() I am now looking for some cool Brabus mods, such as suspension, wheels etc.

It is a great car, performs nicely, looks outstanding, and is beyond my expectations in fit, finish, and overall stabilty. Giff Albright of State Colloege, PA (Home of Penn State Univ) PS: Ben Emerick of snartcenter-Pittsburgh (a Bobby Rahal Mercedes Dealership on Baum Blvd) is a great "smart Brand Consultant" there. |

Surprisingly, they even opened a new Smart dealer in Albuquerque (New Mexico) a few weeks ago. There was no publicity or fanfare at all, strictly word of mouth. I went and looked. Cute car, but they already have a one year waiting list. Amazing.
